Job Description

Heartflow is a medical technology company advancing the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease, the #1 cause of death worldwide, using cutting-edge technology. The flagship product—an AI-driven, non-invasive cardiac test supported by the ACC/AHA Chest Pain Guidelines called the Heartflow FFRCT Analysis—provides a color-coded, 3D model of a patient’s coronary arteries indicating the impact blockages have on blood flow to the heart. Heartflow is the first AI-driven non-invasive integrated heart care solution across the CCTA pathway that helps clinicians identify stenoses in the coronary arteries (RoadMap™Analysis), assess coronary blood flow (FFRCT Analysis), and characterize and quantify coronary atherosclerosis (Plaque Analysis). Our pipeline of products is growing and so is our team; join us in helping to revolutionize precision heartcare.

Heartflow is a publicly traded company (HTFL) that has received international recognition for exceptional strides in healthcare innovation, is supported by medical societies around the world, cleared for use in the US, UK, Europe, Japan and Canada, and has been used for more than 500,000 patients worldwide.

The Senior Technical Project Manager position carries significant responsibility for directing, coordinating, and supervising cross-functional and cross-departmental projects of varying complexity. The incumbent will serve as an authority in the methodologies and procedures employed for managing these technical projects and their associated production release and will be instrumental in facilitating these endeavors. This role necessitates close collaboration with multiple teams concerning schedules and deliverables while ensuring strict adherence to our design controls process. The individual is expected to possess the requisite background to operate with a strategic perspective across multiple complex projects and at the release level, concentrating primarily on these large-scale project initiatives within the department. Furthermore, this role encompasses guiding release activities and providing direction and mentorship across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee detailed planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of complex cross-functional projects.
  • Identify bottlenecks in current workflows and implement automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual overhead.
  • Proactively identify and resolve cross-team dependencies with an emphasis on proactive risk mitigation to ensure seamless release cycles.
  • Hold team members accountable, set clear performance standards and goals, resolve performance issues, and keep teams engaged and on task across multiple major project initiatives.
  • Maintain readiness for FDA audits, focusing on Design Controls, Software Validation, and the newly effective QMSR (Quality Management System Regulation) standards.
  • Lead follow-ups for audits and manage the audit process for medical-grade certifications.
  • Manage Jira for controlled spaces, ensuring full traceability from requirements to verification in alignment with IEC 62304.
  • Coach product development teams on best practices; act as a spokesperson for advanced project management practices.
  • Lead the integration of AI-first initiatives into the engineering workflow, staying ahead of industry trends to boost developer productivity.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results, often operating with general instructions on new projects or assignments and requiring only occasional supervision.
  • Ensure projects directly align with overarching program objectives and strategic goals, as defined by program leadership

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years as a TPM, Project Manager, or Release Manager within a software development organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related field required.
  • Proven ability to construct detailed plans for complex software development projects, ensuring the relevant items, dependencies, and risks are proactively identified, managed, and communicated, even with limited input.
  • Proven ability to leverage AI agents, LLMs, and low-code/no-code tools to rapidly build automation that replaces manual workflows and streamlines internal tooling.
  • Proven experience managing audits (SOC2, ISO 27001, etc.) and using tools.
  • Advanced Jira Administration skills, including workflow customization and permission management.
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights using process metrics and tracking tools.
  • Exceptional ability to coordinate across diverse technical teams and translate platform needs into business value.

  • Outstanding organizational skills including ability to prioritize tasks efficiently across multiple complex projects and deadlines with high level of attention to detail.
  • Strategic problem solver who proactively identifies, anticipates, and mitigates risks and impediments.
