Job Description

Microsoft Digital (MSD) builds and manages the critical products and services that Microsoft runs on. We boldly pursue big ideas that power transformational advances at Microsoft and for our customers, while helping Microsoft teams work smarter, faster, and more securely every day. Microsoft Digital employees have deep technical and business expertise, customer insights, and a clear point of view that comes from first-hand, large-scale experience with Microsoft and industry solutions. We are engineers, technology leaders and experts, digital transformation change agents, and customer advocates.

We have exciting opportunities for you to innovate, influence, transform, inspire, and grow within our organization and we encourage you to apply to learn more!

We are hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive tenant onboarding of Microsoft 365 services inside Microsoft's internal IT organization. Microsoft runs many internal Microsoft 365 tenants, including high profile tenants where security, compliance, and operational bars are at the highest level. The highest impact part of this role is creating clarity in ambiguous problem spaces and delivering tenants to users on time and on quality. You will take loosely defined goals, partner across many engineering teams, and turn them into clear plans, owners, milestones, and decisions. You will operate in high stakes scenarios with a broad stakeholder set including Microsoft 365 product engineering, internal business groups (for example customer support and finance), security organizations, and internal IT leadership, often with conflicting requirements that you will reconcile to keep delivery moving.

This position is based at the Redmond campus with 3 days per week work in the office and 2 days per week work from home. Relocation assistance is available.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • You will drive tenant onboarding programs of significant complexity end to end across multiple engineering teams; own the plan, the milestones, the risks, the decisions, and the delivered outcome.
  • You will make ambiguous problem statements and turn them into structured programs: scope, dependencies, owners, success criteria, and a clear path to delivery.
  • You will manage stakeholders across Microsoft 365 product engineering, internal business groups (for example customer support and finance), security organizations, and internal IT leadership. Surface conflicting requirements early and drive them to a clear decision.
  • You will deliver in high stakes scenarios: keep work moving while managing risk, escalations, and tradeoffs.
  • You will run program rhythms: status, milestone reviews, risk and issue management, dependency tracking, and executive readouts.
  • You will communicate clearly in writing and in meetings; tailor the message for engineers, business stakeholders, and senior leaders.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical program management experience, with at least the most recent role driving programs that span multiple engineering teams.
  • A track record of personally delivering complex programs to completion.
  • Stakeholder management experience across engineering, business, and operational audiences, including high stakes scenarios with conflicting requirements.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to understand engineering tradeoffs, dependencies, and risk in cloud or SaaS programs.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, multitenant SaaS, large enterprise IT, or cloud platform programs.
  • Background partnering with internal business groups (such as customer support or finance), security engineering, compliance, or operations teams.
  • Experience with tenant lifecycle, configuration, or onboarding programs at scale.
  • Experience bringing structure to new or unstructured program areas.
