Job Description

Title:

Senior Technical Professional Mechanical

Functions as a technical specialist who would be responsible for the technical quality of the Data Sheets, Specifications, and Technical Requisitions for Rotating Equipment and Packaged Equipment.

  • Selection & application, preparation of Data Sheets, Specifications and Technical Requisitions, technical evaluation and Supplier document reviews, participation in inspection & testing, Post Erection Inspections, Commissioning and Field Troubleshooting as required for proprietary Rotating and Packaged Equipment for various KBR technologies.
  • Prepare estimates for new KBR proposals. Assist with estimating staffing and schedules technical communications with clients.
  • Under broad direction, functions as a technical specialist who makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have a far reaching impact on extensive engineering and related activities of the company. Negotiates critical and controversial issues with top-level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies.
  • Shall have active role in training of new personnel to the industry and KBR. Candidate shall be managing direct reports, establishing individual performance goals and objectives and reviewing performance against objectives.
  • Maintains a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all governmental regulations and corporate safety guidelines. Ensures that all personnel assigned to the operations receive appropriate safety training and adhere to all safety standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Should be a first-class graduate in Mechanical Engineering with relevant professional experience of 10 - 12 years in selection & application, detailed engineering of Pumps, compressors, steam and gas turbines, packaged equipment n hydrocarbon down-stream industry – with technology/EPC companies, refining, and/or coal gasification, chemical industries. Experience in chemical, refining, and/or synthesis gas industries.
  • Familiarity with industry standards for rotating equipment: API, ISO, NEMA, ASME, IEEE, IEC, ALPEMA, PIP etc
  • Should have experience of preparing Technical Requisitions, technical evaluation and Supplier document reviews, participation in inspection, testing & commissioning as required for Rotating Equipment and Packaged Equipment, Preparation of estimates for new proposals, estimation of staffing & schedules etc.
  • Experience in an operating company with packaged and rotating equipment used in KBR technologies: compressors, pumps, steam and gas turbines, packaged equipment, etc will be considered as an advantage.
  • Must have strong communications skills – both verbal and written, which will be used within KBR and with external suppliers and clients.
  • Candidate should be willing to travel domestically or internationally.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

Manages key business relationships with clients and with Technology Business Unit Managerial teams in India and Houston.
