Job Description

Trade Me Role Description

At Trade Me, we're about connecting Kiwi to create the life they want. Whether it's the big things like finding a home, a job, a car or growing their business, or the smaller things, like finding that right bedside table or parting ways with some old stuff. At Trade Me our vision is to be the place where Kiwi look first.

As Senior Technical Product Owner, you will bring structure and momentum to our ProSeller streams. You'll coordinate parallel workstreams, own product roadmaps, manage complex dependencies, and align stakeholders to deliver rapid, incremental value for Kiwi businesses.

Here is what you can expect from this role:

  • Bring structure and delivery discipline to large, interconnected workstreams and manage complex dependencies.
  • Build, maintain, and own a value-driven, flexible product roadmap while prioritizing the product backlog.
  • Facilitate a product mindset around platform goals, outcomes, and discovery ahead of delivery.
  • Make timely decisions with incomplete information and re-plan as priorities shift in a fast-paced environment.
  • Balance value, viability, feasibility, and usability while managing BAU product performance and health.
  • Build trust and align senior leadership, Sponsors, and stakeholders across ProSeller verticals.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to define OKRs, release readiness, and track impact metrics.

What you will bring to our team:

  • 5+ years in senior product ownership or delivery leadership roles, with strong agile experience.
  • Strong project or delivery management background with proven ability to structure complex, moving parts.
  • Sound product judgement with a track record of owning roadmaps and outcome-based metrics.
  • Technical fluency to partner with engineering on trade-offs (e.g., web/mobile, data, search, or CI/CD platforms).
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills to align competing stakeholders seamlessly.
  • Proficiency using collaborative tools like Miro, LucidChart, and Jira to clarify scope and dependencies.
