About the Role

The Senior Technology Lead (TL) is the key stakeholder for product domain(s) and its component(s) and represents agile teams and technical user stories and enablers acceptance criteria for R&D. The Senior TL is a hands-on technical leader with deep data engineering expertise, including Snowflake, who sets technical direction and personally contributes to architecture, design, and code review, while coordinating and enabling the team to deliver.

They are accountable within their area of responsibility for the execution of the detailed roadmap and product architecture, and on time delivery of complex applications, services, and/or systems. The Senior TL is responsible for decomposition of Epics into technical user stories and enablers. Additionally, the Senior TL manages the sequencing of backlog items; working with the Product Lead to understand and define technical release obstacles. The Senior TL should have a solid understanding of technical release obstacles, the sequencing of backlog items and the product management prioritization and be accountable for iteration ceremonies and their documented outcomes. Senior TL will ensure the delivery of robust and efficient code while following the best practices and standards defined by the organization. The senior TL will collaborate with organizational leaders to create a vision, define implementation plans, and communicate these transparently to whom it may concern.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Function

• Technical and domain expert, with strong hands-on experience in data platforms: Snowflake, data modeling, ELT/ETL pipelines, and performance and cost optimization.
• Leads architecture and design decisions and performs code and design reviews to keep quality high.
• Coordinates the team day to day: sequences the backlog, removes technical blockers, and keeps work flowing across engineers, QA, and product.
• Partners with Product Leads to turn Epics into technical stories and enablers, with clear acceptance criteria.
• Works with architects and engineers on build-vs-buy decisions and on data design that is scalable, secure, and compliant.
• Mentors engineers and, where applicable, other tech leads.
• Owns scrum team delivery and execution.
• Owns feature refinement, Story creation acceptance.
• Assess build vs buy decisions for major system components.
• (If line manager): Experience leading software development teams to successful implementations and/or managerial experience over technical teams..

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

Essential:

• Proven, hands-on experience with Snowflake and modern data engineering (SQL, data modeling, pipelines, orchestration, data quality).
• Strong technical background: has designed, built, and shipped complex systems, and can credibly review code and architecture.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead a team: planning, unblocking, and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in regulated environments (clinical or GxP) highly desirable, including data integrity and validation.
• Ability to (verbally and in-writing) communicate clearly and succinctly complex project plans, design, and technical issues, as well as business and product requirements.
• Strong organizational, time-management, analytical and decision-making skills to efficiently evaluate, plan, and accomplish personal work goals.
• Detailed working knowledge of a System/Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Solid understanding of technical release obstacles and how to overcome them.
• Experience in designing, implementing, and testing complex systems.
• Previous demonstrated success in gathering information from a wide variety of sources and subsequently crafting it into effective and audience-appropriate technical and non-technical documentation.
• Proven track record of success analyzing, defining, and overseeing requirements for advanced and complex applications, products and/or integrations of advanced complexity.
• Proven track record in managing the requirements definition process and synthesizing for a variety of stakeholders representing large and complex organizations.
• Demonstrated capacity to effectively follow established processes to ensure the successful transfer of complex technical, process and organizational knowledge.
• Keen listening skills and ability to empathize with speaker’s point through verbal and non-verbal cues.
• Proven ability to work in a team-oriented work culture, providing back-up support to team members & establishing/maintaining effective work relationships with co-workers within and across functional areas necessary.
• Experience working in a regulated technical environment and/or previous experience with clinical software highly desirable.

Desirable:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical major.
• Demonstrated experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years functioning as Product Owner or similar
