Job Summary

OpenText Extended ECM (xECM) Senior Developer

Experience

7+ years in enterprise content management development, including 4+ years hands-on with OpenText Content Server / Extended ECM.

Role summary

Designs and develops xECM business workspaces, content models, security, workflows and integrations, while ensuring seamless coordination between AppWorks case processes and the xECM content repository.

Key Responsibilities

• Solution development: Configure and extend xECM solutions using business workspace types, templates, categories, classifications, metadata and document lifecycle controls.
• Workspace and content model: Build business workspaces, folder structures, naming conventions, document templates and contextual content views aligned to business objects and case types.
• AppWorks integration: Integrate AppWorks case workflows with xECM for document creation, storage, retrieval, metadata synchronization, permissions and contextual access.
• Workflow and automation: Develop Content Server workflows, event-driven actions, WebReports and supporting automation for content-centric business processes.
• Integration development: Build and consume Content Server REST APIs, Business Workspace APIs and web services for integration with AppWorks and other enterprise applications.
• Security and governance: Configure OTDS-based authentication, users, groups, roles, workspace permissions, records controls, audit requirements and secure content access.
• Customization and user experience: Develop or extend Smart View components, forms, commands and server-side modules where standard configuration does not meet requirements.
• Quality and support: Perform code reviews, unit testing, defect resolution, deployment support, technical documentation, knowledge transfer and second/third-line support.
