Job Summary

We are looking for a full stack developer on the IoT domain with strong experience in microservices development with Kubernetes, Azure infrastructure, and .NET & React languages.

The consultant will be part of an IoT team that develops, deploys, maintains, scales the Volvo global asset tracking platform. The consultant will bring expertise to the team to continue enhancing this IT platform with speed and quality.

The goal is to provide a unique worldwide Volvo solution that ensures the tracking of logistics flows (parts, components, packaging...) with a high level of accuracy through IoT technologies such as BLE, GNSS, UWB and GPS.

The main capabilities include onboarding a wide range of tracking hardware, performing position logic, alerting planners, making tracking data consumable by other products.

Team description:

Within the DTO (Digital Technology & Operations) organization, the “IoT Adoption” team is the expert team for IoT platforms and solutions.

We are an international team (Europe / India) and we manage:

• the Volvo group IoT platform
• the development of main Volvo group IoT capabilities
• the scaling of IoT across Volvo group
• the exploration of future IoT use cases or capabilities

Experience & Skills

Competencies on:

• Mandatory:

o An absolutely must-have is a strong experience of software development in micro-services architecture

o Experience with containerized solutions with Kubernetes

o Experience in full stack development with backend in .NET and frontend in React JS

o Strong IT development skills to manage all phases of a software development life cycle with high-quality standards, including business analysis, development, testing, deployment, and follow-up.

o Ability to think globally and contribute to the development of IoT practice guidelines

• Recommended:

o Experience in development of asset tracking solutions in global industries

o experience on Microsoft Azure IoT

• Would be a plus: experience on Omlox Hub standard

Key Responsibilities

1. To be responsible for providing technical guidance to a team of developers, enhancing their technical capabilities and increasing productivity.
2. To conduct comprehensive code reviews, establish and oversee quality assurance processes, performance optimization , implementation of best practices and coding standards to ensure successful delivery of complex projects.
3. To ensure process compliance in the assigned module| and participate in technical discussions/review as a technical consultant for feasibility study (technical alternatives, best packages, supporting architecture best practices, technical risks, breakdown into components, estimations).
4. To collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables and accordingly prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure & closure of escalations.
