Job Description

What success looks like in this role:

  • Experience in computer hardware repair, field services, desktop support, or technical support environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills across laptop, desktop, and enterprise hardware platforms.
  • Experience performing break/fix maintenance on enterprise-class hardware, including servers, storage devices, desktop PCs, notebooks, and peripheral equipment.
  • Experience replacing and upgrading hardware components such as motherboards, power supplies, memory, storage devices, processors, screens, batteries, keyboards, SSDs, and other field-replaceable units.
  • Basic knowledge of server hardware diagnostics, RAID configurations, firmware updates, and component replacement procedures.
  • Practical experience with the installation, basic configuration, and cabling of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and associated connectivity equipment.
  • Experience with equipment installation, rack mounting, patching, cable management, and basic site setup activities within enterprise customer environments.
  • Good understanding of Windows operating systems and desktop computing environments.
  • Experience working with Dell, Lenovo, HPE, Cisco, or other enterprise OEM hardware platforms is highly desirable.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple onsite service requests.
  • Experience in Apple Software.
  • OEM or manufacturer certifications are advantageous.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
  • Technical certification, associate degree, or relevant vocational training preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in computer hardware repair, field services, desktop support, or technical support environments.
  • Australia Citizen preferred.
  • Current Australian Driver's License and willingness to travel throughout the Mackay region.
