Job Specification
- Contributing to the design and development of Sheet Metal & Plastic components.
- 2D-3D CAD Modelling and detailing designing using CAD – AutoCAD & Creo.
- PLM (Team center) Component library & Documentation.
- Mechanical Sample Development & inspection at supplier end.
- Mechanical system - Sheet metal, Plastic, Die Casting component samples Inspection and documentation.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing mechanical components and systems from requirement gathering to final validation. The role involves 3D/2D modeling, engineering calculations, material selection, prototyping, testing, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver robust, cost-effective, and manufacturable designs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Design & Development
- Develop 3D models, 2D drawings, assemblies, and BOM using CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, NX, etc.).
- Create innovative mechanical concepts based on functional requirements and design guidelines.
- Perform tolerance stack-up, DFMEA, and design optimization for cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Execute engineering calculations for strength, stiffness, thermal, and structural requirements.
2. Prototyping & Validation
- Coordinate with suppliers for prototype development, machining, tooling, and fabrication.
- Support testing activities—environmental, vibration, drop, mechanical load, thermal, etc.
- Analyze test results and implement corrective design changes.
3. Manufacturing & Process Support
- Work closely with production, tooling, and quality teams to ensure seamless manufacturability.
- Develop technical documentation: drawings, specifications, change notes, ECNs, and assembly instructions.
- Support DFM/DFA reviews to improve design efficiency.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Interface with electrical, sourcing, quality, and project management teams.
- Present design concepts, progress, and issue resolutions to stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with company standards, industry norms, and certification requirements.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to cost reduction initiatives without compromising performance.
- Drive design optimization, material reduction, and standardization.
- Implement lessons learned and best practices across teams and projects.
Qualification/ Personal Attributes
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent
Experience
- Mechanical Design in 2D & 3D CAD modeling and detailing.
- Experience of working on CAD Software PTC Creo, AutoCAD.
- Good in MS office and documentation.

- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals: GD&T, tolerance analysis, materials, mechanics.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes: sheet metal, injection molding, die casting, machining.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a first‑time‑right approach.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Technical Skills:
- PTC Creo, AutoCAD.
