About the Opportunity
Reporting to the BA Practice Team Leader, the Senior Technical Business Analyst plays a critical role within the Program Management Department, supporting complex infrastructure and technology uplift initiatives. This role will focus on delivering critical infrastructure uplift and lifecycle initiatives, including Network Security Uplift initiatives, firewall and server lifecycle including in some instances application version uplift.
These initiatives are delivered through a mix of project and BAU led delivery models, with impacts ranging from simple to complex integrations across RACV’s technology landscape.
The Senior Technical BA will work across the full delivery lifecycle, from Discovery/planning through to design and Delivery, ensuring business, technical, and security requirements are clearly defined and successfully implemented.
You will collaborate closely with all technology teams to translate business and technical needs into scalable, secure, and compliant solutions.

As a Senior Technical BA, you’ll be the bridge between business intent and technical delivery, working closely with architecture, engineering, and delivery teams to shape and drive outcomes. You will:
Lead end-to-end business and technical analysis activities across infrastructure initiatives
Work across Discovery, Planning, Design and Delivery phases, ensuring alignment from problem definition through to implementation
Facilitate workshops with technical SMEs to define requirements
Translate business requirements into technical requirements, integration points, and architecture-aligned outputs
Support solution design by collaborating with all project stakeholders
Identify risks, dependencies, and impacts across infrastructure platforms
Support backlog management, prioritisation, and delivery planning with the project teams
Apply BA practice standards, governance, and tooling (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
You’ll also contribute to the BA Practice by sharing technical insights, uplifting capability, and embedding best practices across the team.

Who we are looking for and what you will bring
We are looking for a Senior Technical BA with strong infrastructure experience who thrives in complex, integrated environments and can confidently engage with both technical and business stakeholders. You will bring:
5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, including 3+ years as a Senior Business Analyst
Proven experience delivering infrastructure or cloud-based initiatives
Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure concepts, including:
Networking and firewalls
Virtualisation
Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
Experience working with architecture and engineering teams, translating business needs into requirements
Strong stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical audiences
Experience working across project delivery environments and technology uplift
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills
Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft O365 suite, Jira, Confluence, Visio, draw.io, or equivalent
Desirable
Experience with cloud migrations or infrastructure uplift/lifecycle programs
Experience with security and compliance programs
Experience working with vendors and managed service providers
Relevant certifications (e.g.IIBA)
Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, or a related field (essential).
