About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

The Experience

Salesforce Professional Services is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to support our Life Sciences customers across the EMEA North region (Benelux, the Nordics and Switzerland) from a base in the Netherlands, within the Customer Success Group - Professional Services. You serve as a strategic advisor and Salesforce product and platform expert to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology organisations, helping them turn business priorities into scalable, secure and maintainable solutions.

You work with customers and partners to define the solution vision, lead technical architecture and guide implementation across commercial operations, medical affairs, patient services and, where relevant, clinical engagement. You connect industry needs with platform capabilities while helping customers manage complexity, reduce technical debt and realise long-term value.

The role combines hands-on technical expertise with consulting and leadership. You engage developers, business stakeholders and executives, align multiple delivery teams and help customers make informed architecture decisions within a regulated environment.

Life Sciences is your primary focus. Depending on business demand, you also contribute your architecture expertise to engagements in other industries across EMEA North.

Travel is part of the role. We plan it in advance where possible and aim to give you the flexibility to combine the demands of the role with your personal life.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Life Sciences customers, connecting business objectives with Salesforce architecture, delivery roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead architecture for complex engagements, coordinate the work of solution and technical architects, and align decisions across customers, partners and Salesforce teams.
  • Translate requirements for healthcare professional (HCP) and healthcare organisation (HCO) engagement, medical affairs, patient support, or other commercial and customer-facing Life Sciences processes into practical solution designs.
  • Design data, integration and security architectures connecting Salesforce with enterprise platforms, master data, content repositories and relevant clinical or safety systems.
  • Partner with customer quality, privacy, security and regulatory teams to translate applicable requirements into access controls, consent handling, auditability, validation evidence and release governance.
  • Review architecture, implementation approaches and key deliverables to ensure performance, scalability and maintainability. Guide configuration and development, and contribute hands-on where required.
  • Shape migration and rollout strategies that address data quality, legacy applications, global standards and local market needs across countries in the region.
  • Work closely with project and engagement managers to plan delivery, manage dependencies and risks, resolve issues and set clear customer expectations.
  • Evaluate AI and automation use cases with customers, defining appropriate data access, human oversight and evaluation criteria.
  • Mentor customers, partners and colleagues, contribute reusable patterns and industry knowledge, and support pre-sales activities where required.

You’re Our Person If...

  • You are authorised to work in the Netherlands, holding a valid work permit where required.
  • You have 8+ years of enterprise architecture or technical consulting experience, including 4+ years leading Salesforce implementation projects.
  • You have experience delivering technology solutions for pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical technology organisations, with knowledge of one or more areas such as commercial engagement, medical affairs, patient services or clinical operations.
  • You have strong Salesforce application design skills, supported by experience in data modelling, integration, identity, security and platform scalability.
  • You have hands-on configuration and development experience, including Salesforce customisation and coding in object-oriented languages.
  • You have experience with application programming interfaces (APIs), enterprise integration patterns, data migration and the design of connected enterprise applications.
  • You understand delivery in regulated environments and can work with customer specialists on privacy, consent, data integrity and validation requirements.
  • You have a proven ability to lead technical teams, manage architecture decisions and deliver through agile methods across distributed, multidisciplinary teams.
  • You have strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain technical trade-offs and support senior business and technology stakeholders in making decisions.
  • You are willing to work on engagements outside Life Sciences, in other industries and customer segments, when business demand requires it.
  • You work through complex problems with customers and teams, and keep your technical knowledge current as the platform evolves.
  • You can travel across EMEA North, and occasionally internationally, according to customer needs.
  • You have professional working proficiency in English, written and spoken.
  • Experience will be evaluated based on alignment to the core competencies for the role (for example extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer work, etc.).

Even Better If...

  • You have experience with Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud and its commercial, medical or patient services capabilities.
  • You have experience with HCP and HCO master data, omnichannel engagement, medical content workflows or patient programme integrations.
  • You have experience planning CRM modernisation, legacy platform migration or multi-country deployments for Life Sciences customers.
  • You have experience with Agentforce, enterprise data platforms or AI-assisted development tools, including an understanding of their strengths, limitations and governance needs.
  • You hold Salesforce architecture certifications (such as the Certified Technical Architect (CTA) credential), or have equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • You have experience leading enterprise transformation and building relationships with senior business and technology leaders.
  • You have professional working proficiency in Dutch.
