Job Title: Senior Technical Accountant

We are seeking a senior-level Technical Accountant with hands-on US GAAP experience to join a growing finance team. This is not a general accounting role — we need someone who has directly prepared or reviewed lease accounting under ASC 842 and supported 409A valuations and stock-based compensation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable serving as a primary point of contact for external auditors on complex accounting areas. Reports into US-based finance leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
- Own lease accounting under ASC 842 - classification, ROU asset and liability schedules, modifications, remeasurements, and related disclosures
- Support 409A valuation processes - coordinate with valuation providers, prepare supporting data (cap table, financials, comparable inputs), and review draft reports
- Prepare and record stock-based compensation entries under ASC 718, and maintain equity-related schedules
- Manage month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and close checklists
- Prepare technical accounting memos and audit-ready documentation for complex transactions
- Serve as primary contact for external auditors on lease and equity accounting areas
- Assist with US GAAP financial statement preparation and disclosures

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in US GAAP environments
- Direct, demonstrable ASC 842 experience (implementation or ongoing compliance, not theoretical) (non-negotiable)
- Exposure to 409A valuations and/or ASC 718 stock-based compensation accounting
- Public accounting background (Big Four or large regional firm) or experience at a US company or startup
- Advanced English (C1+), comfortable in daily communication with US stakeholders
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in a major ERP (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks)
- Must have prior remote work experience, be fluent with remote collaboration tools and platforms (such as Slack, Zoom, Google Workspace, Asana, or similar), and have ideally worked with US or UK-based companies. Applications without this experience will not be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Significant overlap with US business hours
- Experience supporting audits end-to-end alongside external auditors
- Prior experience at a startup or fast-growing company
