Requisition Summary:

PACCAR India is looking for a skilled Senior Tech Lead for Engine Installationto join our dynamic team in Pune, specializing in the design development and Integration of engines, engine components and systems on vehicle.

As a Senior Tech Lead at PACCAR, you will leverage your expertise in Layout development, component packaging, installation drawing, and coordination with cross functional team to ensure engines are installed safely, efficiently and compliance with technical requirements. Job Function / Responsibilities

  • Lead engine installation design and integration activities, including mounts, brackets, piping, exhaust, cooling, and auxiliary systems.
  • Develop and review installation layouts, 3D CAD models, drawings, and installation instructions
  • Ensure proper integration of engine systems with structures, driveline, cooling, fuel, electrical, and control systems.
  • Perform engineering calculations such as load analysis, vibration analysis, thermal analysis, and tolerance stack ups.
  • Support prototype build, engine fit up and installation trials.
  • Resolve installation issues during design, build, and testing phases.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, design reviews, and change requests.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and internal design guidelines.
  • The primary function for this position includes:
    • Act as the technical point of contact for engine installation within cross functional teams (design, manufacturing, quality, procurement, testing).
    • Understand design requirements, clearance check, drawing standards, GD&T, and Bill of Material (BOM).
    • Experience in engine exhaust, cooling and auxiliary system.
    • Provide technical assistance to teams and ensure their productivity and delivery deadline.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Production Engineering

Required Skills:

  • 8 -12 years of hands on experience in Mechanical engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in NX and Teamcenter.
  • Strong understanding of engine cooling, Battery cooling and thermal management systems
  • Exhaust aftertreatment, HVAC systems and airflow management
  • Strong understanding other vehicle systems – Driveline, suspension, EDM, Brake & Fuel system, Chassis Frame
  • Excellent understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack up, and engineering drawing practices.
  • Experience in tool clearance, reliability, and ergonomic assessments.
  • Ability to collaborate with both local and global engineering teams.
  • Euro Emissions Norms

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes and assembly techniques.
  • Expertise in component validation, test procedures and issue resolution
  • Thermal & NVH requirements
