Senior Taxation Accountant

Full Time, Perth Based Position

About the Role

Reporting to the Taxation Manager, the Senior Tax Accountant will play a key role in managing the company's taxation compliance, reporting, governance and transfer pricing obligations. This newly created position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Australian tax legislation while providing commercially focused tax advice and supporting strategic business initiatives across a growing and dynamic organisation.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, external advisors and regulatory authorities, you will help strengthen the company's tax governance framework, reduce key-person dependency and support business growth through sound taxation practices and insights.

Responsibilities include:

• Support the ongoing operation and enhancement of the Company's tax governance framework, including maintenance of tax policies, procedures, risk registers and periodic control testing
• Preparation of income tax, GST, PAYG, FBT and other statutory returns and lodgements, in coordination with external tax advisors, including management of a robust Tax WIP and Fixed Asset Register.
• Assist with the preparation of annual Transfer Pricing documentation and Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) obligations
• Quarterly reconciliation of tax balance sheet accounts, including preparation of quarterly IFRS tax effect workbooks and journals
• Assisting with tax advice on commercial transactions, capital projects and strategic business initiatives
• Identifying opportunities to improve tax processes, systems and reporting through automation and continuous improvement
• Maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external advisors and regulatory authorities

About the Candidate:

• CA or CPA qualified with 4+ years' taxation experience in mining, resources, energy, infrastructure or a large corporate environment
• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation legislation across all disciplines
• Experience with tax effect accounting and financial reporting under AASB 112 / IAS 12 (IFRS preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills, with SAP or ERP system experience highly regarded
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and build effective stakeholder relationships
