Also, the Tax Team provides support to internal requests and works with multiple different stakeholders to support product and business launches and new features.
About the role
ByteDance is seeking an enthusiastic International Tax Business Partner to join the tax team in the US, to support its rapid global business growth. The ideal candidate is an experienced problem-solver with strong tax-technical skills and the ability to communicate tax concepts effectively to stakeholders, enabling our business teams to develop comprehensive and practical tax solutions across global tax jurisdictions.
- Act as a senior individual contributor and trusted Tax Business Partner to business teams, independently owning tax assessments for complex or high-impact new products, initiatives, and business models across multiple jurisdictions.
- Serve as the primary tax advisor for assigned business areas, providing timely, practical, and well-reasoned tax advice on both day-to-day matters and complex, ambiguous issues.
- Support and influence tax-related decision-making for significant commercial contracts, product launches, and operational events, including digital advertising and e-commerce activities.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with key non-tax stakeholders, and proactively stay informed of business, regulatory, and operational developments that may have tax implications or risks.
- Proactively communicate material business and product developments to the Tax team to support alignment and ensure ongoing compliance with international tax requirements.
- Play a key individual contributor role in global and cross-functional tax projects related to in-scope products or business lines, contributing deep technical and business expertise.
- Independently review existing tax solutions, structures, and processes within scope, identify risks or inefficiencies, and drive improvements through hands-on analysis and execution.
- Closely monitor global tax legislation and policy developments, assess potential impacts, and provide forward-looking, actionable tax guidance to business teams in advance.
- Design and deliver tax trainings and guidance sessions as a subject matter expert, enhancing tax awareness, compliance capability, and operational efficiency across global teams.
- Support leadership with independent tax analysis, recommendations, and ad hoc strategic projects as required.
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $159000 - $288000 annually.
