Senior Tax Accountant

$160,000–$200,000

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to manage a portfolio of business clients across tax preparation, planning, and ongoing financial guidance. This role requires 5+ years of business tax preparation experience, strong tax planning knowledge, and excellent client-facing communication skills.

This is an opportunity for an experienced tax professional who wants to go beyond preparing returns and become a trusted advisor to business owners.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience preparing complex business tax returns
• Strong knowledge of business taxation and tax planning
• Experience working with business owners and reviewing business financials
• Excellent client-facing communication skills
• Ability to explain tax strategies and financial concepts clearly
• Ability to independently manage client relationships
• CPA preferred, but not required
• Tax return review experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review business tax returns across multiple entity types
• Manage assigned client relationships throughout the year
• Conduct year-end tax planning and identify tax-saving opportunities
• Review client activity and financials to recommend appropriate tax strategies
• Communicate tax positions, liabilities, and planning recommendations directly to clients
• Review business financial performance and identify areas requiring attention
• Participate in quarterly client reviews covering profitability, cash flow, inventory, payroll, and other key financial metrics
• Provide high-level financial guidance to business owners
• Work closely with leadership on more complex client situations
• Help strengthen the firm's tax planning and advisory capabilities

Must-Haves

• 5+ years of business tax preparation experience
• Strong understanding of tax planning and strategy
• Experience preparing complex business returns
• Strong understanding of business financials
• Excellent client-facing communication skills
• Ability to independently manage and advise business clients
