Your future position
As a Senior Tanker Research Analyst you will be expanding the geographical scope of our tanker freight research offering, by adding a dedicated Singapore-based tanker analyst. This role will be pivotal in expanding our footprint across Asia and also be of great help to the growing client engagement team, whilst adding geographically specific knowledge to the team.

Your mission is to:

  • Play a key role in developing the tanker freight Insight product

  • Produce independent analysis of the current and projected trends in tanker freight markets using Kpler and external data sources

  • Communicate analysis of the tanker freight markets through regular written reports, presentations, webinars and meetings with clients and prospects.

  • Continue to build and develop a wide network of contacts within the industry

  • Work with Kpler engineers, analysts and product owners to support the development of our freight market data and tools

  • Support the sales and customer success in communicating the value of Kpler research.

Experience & Background

    Essential:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in analysing liquid tanker freight markets

  • A good understanding of global commodity trade flows, freight arbitrage calculations, key commercial players and fundamental supply and demand drivers for freight markets.

  • Strong track record of producing insightful written analysis

  • You are skilled at carrying out complex analysis across multiple datasets using appropriate tools

  • Fluent in English and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High competency in using Excel

  • Desirable:

  • Previous experience using Kpler data or other cargo tracking tools

  • Experience of using SQL, Python, R or Tableau is beneficial

    Technical / Functional Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Comfortable with establishing new processes and workflows

  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Excel in collaborative team environments while taking full ownership of deliverables

  • Strong track record of producing insightful written analysis

  • Behavioural Competencies:

  • Able to work under time pressure

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field, with proven experience applying modeling techniques in commercial or research environments
