We are seeking a highly experienced and self-directed Senior Talent Acquisition Partner to lead hiring across Japan. This role is critical to enabling business growth and will operate with a high degree of autonomy, owning end-to-end recruiting strategy and execution across a diverse set of roles.

As a trusted advisor to business leaders, you will bring deep expertise in the Japan talent market, leveraging data, market intelligence, and proactive sourcing strategies to attract and secure top talent. You will play a key role in shaping hiring decisions, driving operational excellence, and delivering a best-in-class candidate and hiring manager experience.

This role requires strong stakeholder influence, the ability to navigate a global matrixed environment, and a passion for building scalable, high-impact recruiting solutions.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Recruiting Ownership

  • Own and drive full-cycle recruiting for roles across Japan, from intake through offer close, with full accountability for hiring outcomes.
  • Lead intake discussions with hiring managers to define role requirements, success profiles, and aligned hiring strategies.
  • Proactively manage pipelines to ensure consistent progress, speed, and quality of hire.

Strategic Talent Sourcing & Market Expertise

  • Build and maintain talent pipelines and talent maps for critical and recurring roles.
  • Provide market intelligence on talent availability, competitor landscape, and compensation trends to inform hiring decisions.

Stakeholder Partnership & Influence

  • Act as a strategic advisor to hiring managers and business leaders, influencing hiring decisions, timelines, and expectations.
  • Build strong, trusted partnerships with HRBPs and functional leaders to align recruiting strategies with business goals.
  • Drive accountability across stakeholders to ensure timely decision-making and an efficient hiring process.

Candidate Experience & Employer Brand

  • Deliver a high-quality, consistent candidate experience that reflects the company’s values and strengthens our employer brand in Japan.
  • Represent the company effectively in the market, positioning opportunities in a compelling and competitive way.

Operational Excellence & Data-Driven Recruiting

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of all recruiting data within Workday and other systems.
  • Monitor recruiting funnel health, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Leverage data and metrics to inform decisions and improve hiring outcomes.

Vendor & Process Management

  • Manage external search partners, including vendor selection, performance evaluation, and cost optimization.
  • Continuously assess and improve recruiting processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and compliance.

Compliance & Local Expertise

  • Ensure all recruiting activities comply with Japan labor laws and local employment practices.
  • Provide guidance on local hiring norms, offer practices, and candidate expectations.

Additional Contributions

  • Support and participate in internship, university, and early career programs as needed.
  • Contribute to broader Talent Acquisition initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 10+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a strong focus on passive and niche talent in the high-tech sector
  • Deep understanding of the Japan talent market, including hiring practices, candidate expectations, and competitive landscape
  • Proven ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience supporting senior leaders
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English (written and verbal)
  • Experience with Workday or similar applicant tracking systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, or related technical industries
  • Experience working in a global, matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated success building talent pipelines in competitive markets
