
The Senior Systems Test Engineer reports currently to the Vice President, Product Development Engineering. This role supports engineering, compliance, and manufacturing bench and customer testing for large-scale energy storage products and subsystems. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, they define and execute development tests, verify system and subsystem-level requirements, create and resolve problem reports, and communicate test data to internal and external stakeholders.
As the primary interface for regulatory compliance testing with organizations such as TÜV and UL, this role is pivotal in ensuring product certification and quality. The Senior Systems Test Engineer will become a subject matter expert, gaining extensive hands-on experience with cutting-edge energy
storage and power conversion equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute verification test plans for battery pack systems to ensure compliance with customer requirements. - Statistically analyze test data, create tables/charts, and prepare reports for internal and external teams. - Support problem resolution for issues identified during testing by working with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Collaborate with engineers to integrate and update system verification test plans and test cases in the requirement management system.
- Track and update test results in the requirement management system and support project teams in monitoring status.
- Provide guidance to validation teams on high-risk design validation testing items.
- Support technical risk analysis, focusing test and validation efforts on high-priority areas.
- Coordinate lab equipment, test fixtures, and resources to ensure tests align with project goals.
- Manage lab operations, including safety protocols, organization, equipment maintenance, and process improvements.
- Assist manufacturing teams with in-process and End-of-Line (EOL) test development and training.
- Act as a primary interface with TÜV, UL, CSA, and other regulatory compliance laboratories.
- Ensure testing adheres to federal and state regulations.
- Support correlation efforts between physical validation and virtual validation models.
