Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
This role sits within our Finance Systems Team, who support all users of BNZ Finance Systems and assist with maintenance and development of the systems, enabling efficient delivery of accurate, timely and relevant information and insights to support our business.
This is a 6-month fixed term contract opportunity for an experienced Systems Test Analyst. You’ll have strong SAP functional experience, as this role is pivotal in supporting project-based activities, ensuring seamless SAP Finance processing for the migration from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA.
What are the key day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
Setup of detail test plans for unit and SIT testing.
Perform unit and SIT testing of integrations into SAP and impacted transactions within SAP.
Assist with cutover plan and execution.
Apply strong problem-solving skills when issues arise to understand the root cause from a functional perspective, using your technical insights to interpret system behaviour.
Engage closely with stakeholders, translate business needs into clear functional requirements.
Maintain high standard of documentation for all key tasks and processes.
Identify and drive enhancements to streamline processes, ensuring optimal system performance in collaboration with the relevant BNZ Technology teams and Vendors.
Undertake complex system reviews through SQL based data analysis.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, coupled with the ability to interpret technical systems.
What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?
To be successful in this role, you will be a hands-on problem solver who can quickly add value in a complex finance systems environment. You will bring a minimum of 5 years' experience in a finance systems support role, with a strong focus on systems, applications and functional support, rather than accounting responsibilities. Experience within banking/financial services industry would be beneficial. You will bring:
Solid experience using SQL and understanding of database technologies, enabling you to extract and analyse data, investigate issues, and support informed decision-making.
Proven technical ability to deliver system enhancements and resolve defects. This is not a developer role, and hands-on coding is not required.
Experience in systems change management, with the ability to assess impacts and support delivery.
Well-developed problem-solving skills within a functional support context, including the ability to rapidly pick up issues, work through and drive resolution independently or in collaboration with others.
You'll deal with a variety of stakeholders across BNZ, therefore strong relationship and communication skills is essential.
Ability to translate business requirements into systems solutions.
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, and we are ideally looking for someone available to start as soon as possible.
