Job Description

About us:

At Kinetic IT we pride ourselves on being 100% Australian owned and delivering exceptional service that exceeds our customers' expectations. We are recognised market leaders in the delivery of high-quality IT services in large government and private sector organisations. With 1400 amazing crew across Australia, our strong people-focused culture and dynamic work environment are integral parts of our success.
About the role:

Kinetic IT is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer (SOE / EUC) to support a Federal Government client in a highly regulated environment. This role is responsible for managing and optimising the Standard Operating Environment (SOE), ensuring endpoint platforms are secure, stable, and performing effectively.
You’ll support and enhance the end-user environment across Windows endpoints, mobile devices, and virtual desktops, with a focus on endpoint management, application delivery, configuration, and security compliance. You’ll also work closely with cyber, applications, and service teams to drive consistency and ongoing improvement.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and supporting enterprise SOE/EUC environments including endpoint deployment, windows patching, Level 2/3 incident troubleshooting, and security compliance across multiple environments.
  • Supporting hardened end-user devices including desktops, laptops, printers, iPhones, and a virtual desktop environment (AVD). Managing firmware and whitelisting as required.
  • Managing endpoint configuration, group policy and compliance using Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Azure. Experience with managing Microsoft 365 services such as MS Teams, SharePoint and PowerBI a plus.
  • Packaging, deploying, and maintaining applications via Intune-based packaging; SCCM/MECM background is advantageous. Experience with editing and maintaining PowerShell scripts also a plus.
  • Working within ServiceNow workflows and aligning to ITIL practices. Managing Incident, Problem and Change tasks end to end.
  • Collaborating with technical and senior stakeholders, providing clear communication, status updates, and practical recommendations.

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise SOE/EUC environments (deployment, patching, troubleshooting, packaging, compliance).
  • Strong hands-on capability with Windows 10 and Windows 11. Experience with uplift / modern workplace transition activities or any SOE/EUC related projects.
  • Practical experience with MECM, Intune, Azure, and Microsoft 365 in enterprise environments.
  • Experience working in large enterprise and/or government environments with structured change processes and security-first expectations.
  • Strong stakeholder skills — able to communicate confidently with technical teams and senior IT stakeholders.
  • Must currently have an active NV1 AGSVA security clearance.
