Job Description

What You Will Do:

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join a team that designs airborne avionics display systems. This is a very dynamic role and includes all aspects of Systems Design (“V-model”), customer relations, and proposal creation. The scope of our avionics systems engineering position may include: requirements development, system modeling, safety analysis, aircraft integration, and more. Open communication between hardware, software, reliability, and program management disciplines is integral to the success of this position.

This is an on-site position with flexibility located in either of our state-of-the-art facilities in Oak Creek, WI (Headquarters) or Phoenix, AZ. You will report directly to the Displays and Cockpit Integration Systems Engineering Manager.

How You Will Do it:

  • Lead the design, development, verification, and integration activities of avionics systems, ensuring they meet performance requirements and safety standards.
  • Lead discussions in architecture definition, trade studies, and multi-disciplinary integration problem solving.
  • Provide technical leadership and perform a wide range of tasks including requirements development, system modeling, safety analysis, verification procedure creation, test execution and preparing certification documentation.
  • Perform Integration activities of the Display and other Avionics Systems in the Avionics and Integrated Labs.
  • Assist with definition of installation and qualification requirements for equipment within the Avionics System.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members.
  • Provide technical input and estimates for new opportunities.

What We Look For:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems, electrical, software, computer engineering or another relevant related technical discipline.
  • Minimum five years’ of experience in a systems engineering role.
  • Experience with requirements management and change tracking tools such as DOORS, ADO, etc.
  • E xperience with regulatory design guidelines; examples including ARP4754A, DO-178b/c, DO-254, DO-160.
  • Experience with avionics communication protocols including MIL-STD_1553, ARINC 429, ARINC 664, and Ethernet.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Open to occasional travel as needed.


Desired

  • Master’s degree in systems, electrical, software, computer engineering or another relevant related technical discipline.
  • Ten plus years’ experience in a systems engineering role.
  • Experience with Safety Assessment process guidelines like ARP4761A
