  • Generate and document concept assumptions, constraints, dependencies and operational considerations.
  • Engage with weapon programme teams to understand current and future capability applications across a range of engagement scenarios.
  • Identify concept synergies, interactions and relationships between weapon systems and operational effects.
  • Produce functional architecture and behavioural diagrams to support concept assessment activities.
  • Generate and maintain combined concept functional diagrams and associated engineering artefacts.
  • Assess concepts and identify strengths, limitations, opportunities and dependencies.
  • Support weapon capability assessments against emerging FCAS concepts.
  • Produce concept artefacts and technical evidence to support programme Statements of Work, reviews and key milestones.
  • Provide technical expertise at programme reviews and stakeholder working groups.
  • Contribute to Agile project delivery activities including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Support project management activities through effective use of Agile toolsets and configuration-controlled environments.
  • Produce regular technical status updates and monthly progress reports for programme leadership.

  • Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development.
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) awareness.
  • Defence architecture and capability modelling.
  • Military operational effects analysis.
  • Systems-of-systems engineering.

Experience

  • Concept generation and concept maturation activities.
  • Developing functional diagrams and engineering models.
  • Analysing system behaviour, dependencies and operational interactions.
  • Supporting technical reviews and milestone activities.
  • Working with stakeholders to capture and refine technical requirements and assumptions.
  • Operating within Agile delivery frameworks and collaborative engineering teams.

What do I need before I apply

  • Ability to work within a Defence environment and support sensitive programmes.
