Meet the Team

Silicon Labs Systems Teams’ mission is to ensure our products have the right features and technologies to win in our target market segments. The product systems team ensures that the right features are defined, implemented, validated and documented throughout the development so that the final product solves the customers’ problems.

The Role

The product systems engineering role entails researching targeted applications (E.g., Smart Appliances, Doorbells, E-Metering) and generates system level use-cases to drive our IoT hardware and software roadmaps. Based on these the key specifications of our next products are derived and tracked during execution. The role is also responsible for the right content of our customer-facing documents, including the data sheets and reference manuals.

What you’ll be doing

• Collaborating with Product Management to guide our product roadmap
• Collaboration with technology systems engineering peers
• End-application teardown analysis
• Application research and use-case identification
• Ensuring our products have the right features and technologies to win
• Using a requirements management tool to capture market and product requirements and track them through development
• Helping to train internal audiences on new products
• Creating technical content of customer-facing documentation, e.g., chip specification tables, pinouts, register tables
• Providing mentorship and guidance to less experienced team members
• Develop and improve systems team processes

Minimum Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of industry experience
• A strong understanding of embedded microcontroller architectures and features
• A good understanding of embedded application design: requirement analysis, competitive analysis, part selection, HW design, firmware and application development, validation
• Basic knowledge of wireless radios and protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, ZigBee, Wi-Fi)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.  Must be comfortable explaining technical concepts to a wide range of audiences, including senior engineering leaders.
• Usage of scripting and automation (e.g., python)
• Experience with artificial intelligence (AI) powered tools and technologies used to enhance productivity, analysis, and decision-making

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the semiconductor industry
• Good understanding of hardware IP architecture, development and verification
• Knowledge in the IP Design process for analog or digital IP.
• Experience using lab equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, etc.
• Experience in Content management tools (Heretto) and structured documentation standards (DITA) and version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Experience in requirement management tools (e.g., Jama, Doors)

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between Ft10,907,750 - Ft20,257,250. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
