Wabtec’s Digital Intelligence Signaling & Systems team is a recognized industry leader in the successful delivery of complex integrated system projects. These projects involve signaling, train control, communications, and back-office solutions with a strong focus on project execution, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction

How will you make a difference?

Provide systems engineering expertise to support the design, integration, configuration, maintenance and lifecycle management of operational communication and control systems. Apply systems engineering principles across software, hardware and integrated solutions to deliver and sustain projects from concept through to implementation, in-service support and end-of-life activities. Work within multidisciplinary teams to ensure systems meet operational, customer and business requirements, while supporting the ongoing evolution of t-visor and responding to customer needs, engineering changes and product support requirements across domestic and international programs.

What will your typical day look like?

• Design, configure, integrate and deploy t-visor solutions to meet project, customer and operational requirements.
• Develop, analyse and maintain system, functional and interface requirements for communication and control systems.
• Prepare and maintain systems engineering artefacts, including specifications, design documentation, test procedures and reports.
• Manage requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle, ensuring traceability, verification and compliance with customer and project requirements.
• Coordinate with software, hardware and project teams to support the integration, testing, deployment and maintenance of system capabilities.
• Liaise with the t-visor software development team to support product enhancements, defect resolution, technical investigations and customer-driven changes.
• Support the implementation and management of customer-specific product variations and engineering change proposals.
• Configure and support networking and communications infrastructure associated with t-visor deployments and integrated solutions.
• Conduct technical investigations, root cause analysis and problem resolution activities for delivered systems and products.
• Support product maintenance activities, including upgrades, technology refresh, obsolescence management and change implementation.
• Contribute to system architecture, design reviews and technical decision-making processes.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ensure engineering activities are performed in accordance with organisational processes, quality standards and configuration management requirements.
• Provide technical support to projects, products and customers across domestic and international programs as required.
• Carry out duties in a conscientious manner conductive to the health and safety of yourself and other employees.

What do we want to know about you?

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in a relevant field such as Software, Electrical or Systems Engineering or equivalent.
• Eligibility to obtain a Security License (Mandatory) – Individual Class 2 Security License
• Relevant industry certifications in systems engineering, networking or communications systems are desirable
• Proficiency in technical knowledge, such as knowledge of software engineering processes, engineering principles, systems design, and safety standards.
• Meticulous and detail-oriented, ensuring that all aspects of the product design process are thoroughly reviewed and evaluated.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with other teams, clients and stakeholders with technical and non-technical backgrounds.
• Effectively manage and prioritize tasks, ensure project timelines are met, and provide regular updates on progress.
• Problem solving and reasoning.
