Job Description

In this role, you'll:


Work as part of an inclusive team delivering technology solutions that optimise NSW’s road network operations and support Transport for NSW’s strategic priorities, including improved safety, efficiency, and multimodal integration.

You will lead systems engineering activities across the project lifecycle - requirements definition, technical design, analysis, testing, assurance, and performance optimisation.

You’ll work across key platforms such as PTIPS, SCATS, Cornerstone, and other emerging Road network Management & operational technologies.

You will champion innovative technical solutions and deliver systems improvements that enhance performance, streamline operations, and strengthen service outcomes in a fast paced, safety critical, and highly collaborative environment.

You will solve complex system challenges, translate operational needs into technical requirements, and deliver high quality solutions that support network efficiency and customer outcomes.

You’ll have opportunities to broaden your expertise in data analytics, network optimisation, and system integration within one of Australia’s largest and most complex transport environments.

About you


Your strong technical leadership, analytical capability, and systems engineering experience developed across transport technology, traffic control systems, digital platforms, large scale infrastructure, or similar operational environments will be key to your success.

You will be skilled as a proactive and collaborative systems engineer, practiced at analysing complex technical issues, integrating digital systems, and driving continuous improvement.

You will have experience in system design, SQL/Oracle database management, production support, system monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk), traffic control technologies such as SCATS, and working with multidisciplinary teams and service providers to deliver reliable, high performing technology solutions.

Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or demonstrated experience.
