Job Description

Leidos is seeking Senior System Engineer to join the NISC Contract Supporting the Federal Aviation Administration Real Estate team located in Washington, DC. This position requires strong technical skills to support a complex, technical system. Excellent communication, team participation and prioritization skills, as well as the ability to be flexible and responsive in a fast-paced environment are required. The ideal candidate will provide engineering design review, scheduling, and installation oversight for KVM to the Air Traffic Control System Command Center operational floor.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Review and assess site survey reports.
  • Provide technical review and comments for future installation planning, including conceptual rack layouts, cabling concepts, redundancy topology, and phased cutover strategies to minimize operational disruption.
  • Coordinate and schedule site preparation activities.
  • Evaluate existing site surveys and site preparation requirements.
  • Conduct site surveys to identify site preparation requirements.
  • Research and provide cost estimates associated with assigned projects.
  • Track project schedules and resource requirements for assigned projects.
  • Develop site specific project plans and specifications
  • Provide analysis, recommendations and solutions to issues identified during site surveys.
  • Prepare Telecommunications strategic planning and task development.
  • Prepare periodic status reports.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in related field and 8 – 12+ years of prior relevant professional experience or Master’s in related field and 6 -10+ years of prior relevant professional experience.
  • Previous experience developing requirements and features, especially in an agile program
  • Experience on FAA air traffic systems or working on flight planning systems
  • Experience in voice communications integration and IP radios and experience with ED-137 compliance.
  • Must be able to obtain FAA Public Trust Suitability prior to starting on this program

Pay Range:

Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
