The role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in modernising and sustaining the UK’s Defence systems which will include, Communications, Networks and Electronic Warfare. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of defence, aerospace and engineering, where your expertise will directly support national security, global stability, and the protection of those who serve.
You’ll work as part of our Mission Systems business, collaborating with talented engineers across design, integration, testing and through-life engineering. Every day, you’ll solve complex problems, shape cutting‑edge solutions and contribute to a programme that will elevate your career, expand your systems engineering mastery and accelerate your professional growth.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home. Travel to Babcock and customer sites including Corsham, Oakhanger, Plymouth and Bristol will be expected.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. Must be a Sole UK National.
