Tū Ora Compass Health Primary Health Organisation (PHO) is a network of 69 General Practices supporting an enrolled population of over 442,000 patients. We also have a range of additional clinical services to support general practice, operating with a range of partnerships and contracts over the Greater Wellington region, including Wairarapa.

Health Hawke’s Bay – Te Oranga o Te Matau-a-Māui is an established PHO, within the Hawkes Bay. We work in partnership with General Practices to improve health outcomes and life expectancy across Hawke’s Bay, particularly for Māori and other under-served groups. Our mahi focuses on supporting communities, whānau and providers to achieve sustainable health gains, and equitable health outcomes.

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi| About the Role

We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to provide advanced technical support in the operational delivery of our Microsoft 365, Intune/Endpoint, Azure, and network environments.

In this role, you’ll deliver Level 3 service desk support, manage device and network configuration, support technical projects, maintain documentation, and work with vendors. As an escalation point for complex issues, you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring a secure, stable, and reliable digital environment.

This is a hands-on technical role with significant scope to influence stability, security, and service quality across our systems digital environment.

This position works across two partner organisations—Tū Ora Compass Health and Health Hawke’s Bay—supporting operational and service delivery needs, contributing to seamless integration, and helping deliver high quality outcomes for the communities we serve.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Systems Engineer who can demonstrate:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Computer Science) and/or Microsoft certification. An ITIL qualification would be a bonus!
  • 5+ years' experience working with Microsoft/Office 365, Azure, and network/cloud implementation and management. Experience supporting cloud hosted telephony platforms an advantage.
  • Proven experience engaging with software vendors and handling Level 3 service tickets.
  • A track record of delivering high quality work within operational timeframes
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
  • A commitment to maintaining a clean, simple, and highly secure system architecture
  • The ability to effectively juggle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Confidence and professionalism when engaging with challenging and diverse customers
  • Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting abilities and a methodical approach to resolving complex technical issues
  • A high degree of autonomy, with the ability to lead and contribute to projects within the team
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence
  • You will either have a sound knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and be an advocate of our organisations' strategy or have a commitment to growing your skills in these areas
