Job Description

The Operations & Performance Support Team is seeking an energetic candidate to develop and manage O&Rs operational data and reporting portfolio. The Data Analyst partners with operational and leadership teams to support data driven decision making across the operations organization to improve efficiency and optimize performance in order to provide safe, timely, efficient and reliable installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of the electric and gas distribution system and associated equipment. Under the direction of the Section Manager, the Data Analyst will provide support to operations staff related to data management, report generation, and operational analysis. The Data Analyst will work with operations staff and leadership to prepare reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators. The Data Analyst is responsible for managing data sources, accuracy of recurring reports, and developing ad-hoc reports.

The role requires the ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion of deliverables, adapt quickly to shifting priorities while maintaining high quality analytical output, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, applying sound judgment to determine urgency, impact, and importance.

Core Responsibilities

  • Work extensively with key stakeholders across electric and gas operations to understand business needs, vet opportunities, and deliver analytically based reports, dashboards, analysis, and recommendations to drive action. Provide data support to business users within operations. Develop queries and analyze data.
  • Drive creative and innovative analytic applications and results. Keep abreast of industry, market, and company trends. Partner with business leaders to champion the adoption of new data analytic approaches, techniques, and capabilities. Work with teams on analytics efforts across the company.
  • Coordinate with data and analytic business support teams across the company and technical architecture groups to plan, manage and implement business needs.
  • Partner with other Project and IT functional areas to support deployment of work management systems and tools.
  • Work with business partners on the interpretation, implications, and use of analytic results. Prepare and deliver presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for business users to implement.
  • Coordinate with data and analytic business support teams across the company and technical architecture groups to plan, manage and implement business needs.
  • Build deep expertise in O&Rs operational and external data. Consult on this knowledge and apply it to analytic projects.
  • Develops technical solutions and automated processes for work functions in the department.
  • Clearly articulate technical issues and concepts to operational personal and leaders.
  • Support to Electric and Gas Operations personnel as required.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to the business as needed.
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.

Required Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of nine (9) years' of relevant work experience is required or
  • Associate's Degree and a minimum of seven (7) years' relevant work experience is required or
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five (5) years' work experience is required or
  • Master's Degree and a minimum of three (3) years' work experience is required

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree preferably analytical, mathematical, or computational field and a minimum of five (5) years' work experience is required
  • Master's Degree preferably analytical, mathematical, or computational field and Minimum of three (3) years' work experience is required

Relevant Work Experience

  • Demonstrates a high energy level, an ability to prioritize work, and be able to handle multiple assignments while meeting deadlines, required.
  • Experience with SQL and having the ability to extract data for analysis, required.
  • Must have experience working with users to define, specify, and implement requirements and reports, required.
  • Experience with providing internal or external stakeholders with application support, required.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, required.
  • Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), required.
  • Work experience with Tableau, required.
  • Work experience with Oracle Analytics Cloud OAC, required.
  • Work experience with Power Apps, Power Automate & Power BI, required.
  • Work experience with SharePoint site management, required.
  • Work experience with electric or gas processes, preferred.
  • Familiarity with enterprise analytics platforms, preferred.

Additional Physical Demands

  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
