Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Senior Systems Analyst, Point-of-Sale (POS) on a permanent basis on our Retail Solutions team. This position supports hybrid work from Saskatoon, SK or Edmonton, AB We may consider a fully remote setup for strong candidates outside these areas.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead major POS initiatives in the Food, Fuel and Liquor department by defining scope, direction, and delivery of projects that shape the POS roadmap and improve Retail IT solutions across FCL and the CRS.
  • Collaborate with various business units, local co-ops, and project managers to plan and execute multi year POS rollouts.
  • Develop and oversee testing strategies, build repeatable validation plans, and provide second and third level support to team members and vendors.
  • Manage and direct external partners and vendors while owning the technical and functional design of POS components within larger retail solutions.
  • Support cross functional integrations, contribute to solution selection beyond POS, and mentor team members through knowledge transfer and coaching.
  • Provide Level 2 support for Point-of-Sale related solutions to local co-ops and FCL business units, including as part of a team on-call rotation.

Who you’ll work with:
The Team: You will work closely with the other POS team System Analysts, reporting into the Senior Manager, Food Fuel & Liquor POS.This team strives to cultivate a culture of dynamic, cross-functional, and customer centric service.

The Collaborators: You will work closely with other functions in our technology business unit including the retail service desk, architecture, quality assurance, and IT operations teams such as network and server teams. You will collaborate across the organization with teams such as Energy/Petroleum, Food, C-Store, Finance, and Retail Operations. You will work with various vendors who sell and support the POS technology used across the CRS..

The Customers: You will demonstrate customer focus while supporting local Co-op’s at both the association and store levels in projects, inquires, support issues, and escalations.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Information Technology and:

  • Have 6-9 years of relevant progressively responsible experience with multiple Point-of-Sale or retail related software and hardware systems. Experience with head office and store level retail systems, retail fuelling systems, POS hardware including self-checkout systems, etc. is required.
  • Have a degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Are familiar with other technology such as relational databasesSQL, operating system management, scripting, PCI, and other technology that provides infrastructure for retail operations.
