Job Description

Northern Technologies Group (NTG) is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support mission-critical operations for U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) at MacDill Air Force Base.

This role is responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructure in a high-availability, classified environment. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with Windows Server environments, system maintenance, and DoD security compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server 2019/2022 environments
• Perform system patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation
• Monitor and manage server performance, availability, and system health
• Ensure compliance with DoD security standards, STIGs, and policies
• Support infrastructure deployments, system builds, and configuration management
• Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues across enterprise environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, engineers, and mission stakeholders
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and system procedures
• Escalate and track issues to resolution in accordance with operational priorities
• Support continuous improvement of system performance and security posture

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification (e.g., Security+)
• 3+ years of systems administration experience in enterprise environments
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration
• Experience with patching, system upgrades, and maintenance processes
• Understanding of DoD security requirements (STIGs, RMF, etc.)
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting USCENTCOM or similar DoD combatant commands
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware/vSphere)
• Experience with certificate lifecycle management (PKI)
• Knowledge of scripting/automation (e.g., PowerShell)
• Experience working in multi-domain or classified environments (NIPR/SIPR)
