The System & Lab Administrator is a key member of the support and infrastructure team, responsible for maintaining and evolving the lab environment used for product validation. This role supports the engineering team by managing test and development infrastructure—including servers, virtual machines, networks, and automation tools—and by helping build reliable and scalable test setups.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on technical skills, experience with virtualization and containerization technologies, strong network troubleshooting skills and the ability to script monitoring and automation tools that enhance the efficiency of the infrastructure workflow.

This is a hybrid role; the selected candidate will work a minimum of 3 days per week from HPE office in St. Laurent.

Key Responsibilities

Lab & Infrastructure Management

• Administer and maintain lab servers, storage systems, and virtualization environments.
• Manage VM lifecycles (creation, configuration, optimization, retirement) in environments such as KVM.
• Oversee lab network configuration including VLANs, routing, and controlled access to devices under test.
• Ensure stable and secure connectivity between test systems, management stations, and shared resources.
• Troubleshoot network outages (off-hour availability when necessary).
• Create/maintain documentation and lab topology diagrams.

Test Setup Integration

• Build, configure, and maintain test topologies using: Access points (APs), Switches, Gateways and Additional RF, routing, and networking equipment as required
• Collaborate closely with engineers to define requirements and optimize testbed reliability.

Automation & Monitoring

• Develop and maintain scripts (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and tools to monitor test setups, system health, resource consumption, and connectivity.
• Implement alerting and logging mechanisms to quickly identify failures or abnormal behavior.
• Support the creation of automated workflows to streamline processes and reduce manual interventions.

• Deploy and manage services using Docker containers where applicable.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years experience with infrastructure administration in a lab or production environment.
• B. Sc. Computer Science or B. Eng (software, electrical or computer engineering) required.
• Hands-on experience with KVM virtualization, Docker, and Linux-based systems.
• Strong knowledge with networking concepts: VLANs, routing, switching, firewalling, DHCP, DNS.
• Familiarity with scripting skills for automation, system health monitoring, and configuration tasks.
• Ability to work with physical networking equipment (APs, switches, gateways).
• Strong troubleshooting skills in both hardware and software environments.
• CCNA certification or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with access management technologies like LDAP.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Knowledge of REST APIs and automation frameworks.
• Exposure to RF or wireless networking technologies.

Administrateur système et laboratoire senior

L'administrateur de système et de laboratoire est un membre clé de l'équipe de support et d'infrastructure. Il est responsable de la maintenance et de l'évolution de l'environnement de laboratoire utilisé pour la validation des produits. Ce rôle consiste à soutenir l'équipe d'ingénierie en gérant l'infrastructure de test et de développement (serveurs, machines virtuelles, réseaux et outils d'automatisation) et en contribuant à la mise en place de configurations de test fiables et évolutives. Le candidat idéal possède de solides compétences techniques, une expérience des technologies de virtualisation et de conteneurisation, d'excellentes aptitudes au dépannage réseau et la capacité de développer des scripts pour les outils de surveillance et d'automatisation afin d'optimiser le flux de travail de l'infrastructure.

Il s'agit d'un poste hybride : le candidat retenu travaillera au minimum 3 jours par semaine au bureau HPE de Saint-Laurent.

Responsabilités principales

• Gestion du laboratoire et de l'infrastructure
• Administrer et maintenir les serveurs, les systèmes de stockage et les environnements de virtualisation du laboratoire.
• Gérer le cycle de vie des machines virtuelles (création, configuration, optimisation, mise hors service) dans des environnements tels que KVM.
• Superviser la configuration du réseau du laboratoire, notamment les VLAN, le routage et le contrôle d'accès aux appareils testés.
• Garantir une connectivité stable et sécuriser entre les systèmes de test, les postes de gestion et les ressources partagées.
• Résoudre les pannes réseau (disponibilité hors des heures ouvrables si nécessaire).
• Créer et maintenir la documentation et les schémas de topologie du laboratoire.
• Intégration des configurations de test
• Concevoir, configurer et maintenir les topologies de test à l'aide de points d'accès, de commutateurs, de passerelles et d'équipements RF, de routage et de réseau supplémentaires, selon les besoins.
• Collaborer étroitement avec les ingénieurs pour définir les exigences et optimiser la fiabilité des bancs de test.
• Automatisation et surveillance
• Développer et maintenir des scripts (Python, PowerShell, Bash) et des outils pour surveiller les configurations de test, l'état du système, la consommation des ressources et la connectivité. Mettre en place des mécanismes d'alerte et de journalisation pour identifier rapidement les pannes ou les comportements anormaux.
• Contribuer à la création de flux de travail automatisés afin de rationaliser les processus et de réduire les interventions manuelles.
• Déployer et gérer les services à l'aide de conteneurs Docker, le cas échéant.

Compétences et qualifications requises

• Plus de 8 ans d'expérience en administration d'infrastructures en environnement de laboratoire ou de production.
• Baccalauréat en informatique ou en génie (logiciel, électrique ou informatique) requis.
• Expérience pratique de la virtualisation de KVM, de Docker et des systèmes Linux.
• Solides connaissances des concepts de réseau : VLAN, routage, commutation, pare-feu, DHCP, DNS.
• Maîtrise des langages de script pour l'automatisation, la surveillance de l'état du système et les tâches de configuration.
• Capacité à travailler avec des équipements réseau physiques (points d'accès, commutateurs, passerelles).
• Excellentes compétences en dépannage, matériel et logiciel.
• Certification CCNA ou expérience équivalente.
• Excellente communication .

Atouts

• Expérience des technologies de gestion des accès telles que LDAP. Expérience des outils CI/CD (par exemple, Jenkins, GitLab, CI).
• Connaissance des API REST et des frameworks d'automatisation.
• Initiation aux technologies de RF ou de réseaux sans fil.
