Job Description

Join our Product Management team as a Systems Architect, where you'll serve in a key leadership role driving our Pivot to Value (P2V) initiatives. This position combines strategic systems thinking with hands-on product management, directly impacting safety, quality, delivery, cost, and capacity outcomes across our Gas Power portfolio.
You'll translate complex stakeholder requirements into configurable, value-optimized module and system designs that balance technical excellence with business objectives, while collaborating across functions to drive informed decision-making.

Roles and Responsibilities

Systems Ownership and Analysis

  • Own a defined set of modules and systems throughout their full lifecycle — from definition through fulfillment, servicing, and end-of-life — applying systems thinking to understand how each system interacts with and impacts the broader gas power plant.
  • Translate stakeholder functional requirements into module and system requirements that are clear, configurable, and generate customer value, evaluating how design and fulfillment decisions at the module level influence overall plant performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Specify, manage, and document interface definitions and controls between modules and systems to achieve the lowest installed and lifecycle cost, enabling engineering and fulfillment teams to work independently and integrate effectively.
  • Analyze data across multiple sources to generate systems-level insights, identify improvement opportunities, and challenge existing processes to drive value creation.

Strategic Decision-Making and Business Impact

  • Lead strategic make/buy, do/buy, and re-use decisions at the system and module level, assessing market suppliers and ensuring supply contracts and specifications are optimized for cost, lead time, and fulfillment strategy.
  • Plan, prepare, and manage productivity initiatives end-to-end, including resource planning, cost estimation, risk analysis, and performance tracking to achieve net recurring business benefits.
  • Evaluate configurability across plant and product modules, identifying opportunities to harmonize or standardize modules to improve quality, delivery, and cost outcomes.
  • Stay informed of advancements in power systems engineering and industry trends, applying this knowledge to inform team strategy and improve the competitiveness of GE Vernova's solutions.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Proactively identify and lead initiatives to enhance systems modeling methodologies, applying innovative thinking to recommend best practices and drive improvements across mechanical and electrical plant systems.
  • Lead and/or participate in verification and validation of designs from engineering teams and suppliers, exercising high judgment to resolve conflicting technical information and confirm sustainability of initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Advanced Research Center (ARC) and other technical partners to contribute systems thinking expertise to broader GE Vernova research and innovation efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, operations, or product management in power generation or industrial applications, including demonstrated experience applying systems thinking to complex, multi-disciplinary engineering challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience developing or applying analytical models or simulation tools to evaluate systems within the context of broader plant-level performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex systems-level concepts and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences, with experience influencing stakeholders and guiding cross-functional teams toward informed decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and influence peers without direct authority.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience or formal academic background in systems engineering, including concept development, requirements management, interface control, and risk management.
  • Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines — such as electrical, mechanical, controls, or thermal systems — to evaluate system-level trade-offs and optimize overall plant performance.
  • Experience with gas power plant systems across the full plant lifecycle including proposal, design, execution, and service.
  • Experience with analytical or simulation tools applied to power plant systems, or with data integration, cloud platforms, or AI/ML tools applied to power systems analysis.
  • Familiarity with GE Vernova products, systems, and commercial processes, with a proven ability to engage customers and present complex technical content confidently.
