Our Instrumentation Development Chapter is responsible for the design and development of instrumentation (pre-analytics, analyzers, post analyzers and lab automation solutions) for the future Core Laboratory.
We are looking for self-motivated software engineers to join our exceptional engineering teams that are building solutions for our Coagulation instrumentation. You will be part of an ongoing transformation in the healthcare industry, working in one of the future product teams in Roche, responsible for creating an intuitive core platform that has a great impact on users.
As a Software Engineer you will contribute in the design, implementation and testing of software components for a coagulation In-Vitro diagnosis instrument following Roche Core Lab Instrumentation Development standards and procedures
Participate in all phases of software development from feasibility studies through design, development, testing and bug fixing including software maintenance.
Participate in defining user stories, their estimation, planning, and implementation within the software development team.
Produce code based on software requirements, the project’s software architecture and other project guidelines Unit and subsystem specifications that document their implementation.
Do accurate code design and implementation including the tests to verify the code against unit and/or subsystem specification.
Review and analyze your source code as well as on request the source code of your peers in the software development team.
Review application design, functionality, usability and performance to enhance it.
Provide work status and issue notification within the software development team and if required to software project management.
Share expertise and experience with less experienced software engineers and actively support their knowledge improvement.
Permanently improve the software development workflow to increase quality and efficiency by exchanging know-how with other software engineers and stakeholders
The following list is what we are looking for. We understand you may not be fully proficient in all of them:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar from the software sector.
At least 8 years of work experience in hands-on software development.
Experience with cybersecurity and what it means from the software engineering point of view.
Strong knowledge in the following technologies:
Microsoft .NET Framework, Net 8.0, C#, .Net Core,XAML.
PostgreSQL database (version 17), Oracle database and Entity Framework.
Automated Testing framework (MS Test, Selenium, Winapp driver).
Continuous integration/deployment (like Azure DevOps and GIT).
Good knowledge of design patterns.
Working experience in Object Oriented Analysis and Design using UML, writing formal specifications and requirements.
Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture best practices.
Strong team player, open minded and enthusiastic to learn, strong communication and collaboration.
Experience working in agile software development environments (Scrum, SAFe), ideally a SAFe certification and practical experience acting as a Scrum Master are highly desirable
High level of written and spoken English.
Interpersonal communication skills, influence and inspiration, capable of dealing with complex situations.
Strong technical background and good problem-solving skills.
Positive, open minded, communicative and proactive mindset.
Takes responsibility for a team or technical concept
Experience with product delivery in regulated industries with good understanding of compliance topics such as information security and design control is a strong plus.
Prior experience in developing and delivering software for Medical Devices is a strong plus.
