Job Description

Main Purpose

The Sustainability Reporting and Engagement Lead:

  • Leads the coordination, production, and continuous improvement of the Group’s sustainability and ESG reporting, disclosure, and stakeholder engagement activities.

  • Responsible for delivering high-quality, transparent Sustainability communications, including the Annual Sustainability Report, and submissions to global frameworks such as CDP, Ecovadis, and Modern Slavery.

  • Acts as a key link between internal and external stakeholders to ensure ESG data, performance insights, and narratives are accurate, consistent, and aligned with global regulatory, investor, and customer expectations.

  • Supports execution of the CSRD program, manages regulatory impact analysis, and engages directly with banks and customers to provide verified sustainability information supporting financing, risk management, and value-chain transparency.

  • Acts as the Group’s subject matter expert (SME) for Decarbonisation and GHG accounting, driving consistency in emissions and performance measurement and supporting integration into business and financial processes and decisions.

The Senior Sustainability Reporting & Engagement Lead is a fixed-term contract of 10 months, covering a maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sustainability/ESG Reporting and Disclosure Management

  • Lead the end-to-end coordination of the Annual Sustainability Report, and related disclosure materials.

  • Manage Group submissions to CDP (Climate & Water), Ecovadis, Modern Slavery, and other external frameworks.

  • Ensure alignment with major reporting standards (CSRD, GRI, SASB, TCFD) and ensure timely, accurate publication.

  • Develop and maintain a structured reporting calendar, templates, and content governance processes.

  • Partner with Communications and Group Sustainability to ensure coherent, evidence-based sustainability narratives.

2. ESG Regulatory Management and Impact Assessment

  • Monitor global ESG regulatory developments, including CSRD, EU Taxonomy, ISSB, and regional disclosure mandates.

  • Support impact assessments on emerging regulations, identifying data gaps, system implications, and process adjustments.

  • Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory risks, disclosure requirements, and readiness plans.

  • Support the Double Materiality Assessment (DMA) process under CSRD and contribute to the design of compliant disclosure structures.

  • Coordinate with Legal, Finance, and Sustainability teams to ensure governance alignment and regulatory assurance.

3. External Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the operational point of contact for banks, investors, and customers requesting ESG data and disclosure information.

  • Provide verified ESG performance data to support sustainable financing, credit risk analysis, and customer due diligence.

  • Coordinate content for sustainability questionnaires, RFP responses, and partner engagement platforms.

  • Ensure consistency and credibility of externally shared ESG data and positioning.

4. Internal Engagement and Process Improvement

  • Support digitalisation of ESG processes and dashboards in collaboration with Data Specialists and IT.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, increase data reliability, and enhance reporting efficiency.

5. Decarbonisation and GHG Accounting (SME Responsibility)

  • Act as subject matter expert for Decarbonisation and GHG accounting, ensuring consistent application of emissions and accounting methodologies.

  • Partner with Finance and Group Accounting to align sustainability data with financial reporting cycles and assurance requirements.

  • Support decarbonisation target setting, reduction strategies and solutions, progress tracking, and data validation for Scope 1–3 emissions.

Required qualifications:

  • Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Communications, or related field.

  • 5–10 years’ experience in sustainability or ESG reporting, preferably within global industrial or resource sectors.

  • Strong understanding of ESG frameworks and disclosure regulations (CSRD, GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, Ecovadis).

  • Proven capability in regulatory interpretation, impact assessment, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Skilled communicator, with experience in stakeholder engagement and sustainability narrative development.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience supporting data assurance and audit processes.

  • Familiarity with digital tools (Intelex, Qlik Sense, Power BI).
