Job Description

The Senior Survey Instructor plays a crucial role in our organization's training and development efforts. They are responsible for creating and maintaining survey course curriculums, covering entry-level to advanced topics. This specialist works closely with key stakeholders, including the Chief Surveyor and Technical Solutions teams, to ensure training materials are up-to-date and aligned with industry needs. Additionally, they provide hands-on training, conduct vessel visits for system checks, and maintain a shared training calendar to optimize training opportunities.

  • Develop and revise survey course curriculums for entry-level, intermediate, and advanced learners.
  • Conduct research and collaborate with subject matter experts to create accurate and relevant training materials.
  • Write technical and user manuals to support training programs.
  • Manage and maintain classroom supplies and equipment for instructional purposes.
  • Outsource equipment rentals for training as needed.
  • Deliver formal classroom courses, workshops, and computer-based training sessions.
  • Train personnel in mentoring and assessment processes.
  • Maintain a shared training calendar and identify opportunities for training field personnel.
  • Conduct vessel visits to ensure survey systems' functionality and provide hands-on training.
  • Comply with company safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions or practices.
  • International travel to deliver training.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Education, Training, or a technical discipline.
  • Demonstrable relevant experience in instructional design or training delivery.
  • Strong research and writing skills for developing training materials.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficiency in using learning management systems and e-learning tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in training and development.
  • Willingness to travel for vessel visits and training sessions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain security clearance.
