Job Description

ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

The Senior Support Worker for each McCall Gardens site is accountable for the Team Leader of the program, focusing on achieving consistent service standards and quality outcomes for participants.

The position will responsible to be making supporting decisions and implement structures and processes that effectively provide consistent high quality service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understanding and commitment to support persons with a disability in daily living, personal care skills and community integration to foster their skill development and independence.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills for engaging and communicating with persons with a disability, staff, families and for writing reports.
  • Well-developed computer skills, including the use of standard computer applications, for efficient use of systems.
  • Experience in working as part of a team and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy and to work in a position of trust.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills and the ability to be flexible and responsive to operational requirements.
  • Proven Ability to work positively in a team environment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislative, policies, procedures and service delivery guidelines.
  • Commitment to work independently and professionally and follow McCall Garden guidelines.
  • Knowledge of needs of persons with a disability to provide appropriate support and care.
  • Understanding of and commitment to providing support and care in compliance with the NDIS Quality management.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2-3 years experience in working in a Community Setting
  • Certificate 4 Community Services, Disability or equivalent

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Current unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • NDIS Workers Check
