Position Senior Supply Chain Officer

Department Supply Chain
Prepares budget of different brands and handles operations from inventory replenishment, placing the order with the supplier, till order clearance and delivery to the warehouse at optimum cost and quality.

B Order Processing
Places orders with suppliers as per set deadlines and brand requirements after securing SCM approval.
Optimizes shipment quantities, values & cost, ensures terms (discounts, free goods, etc.) are respected.
Follows up with suppliers to ensure that orders are shipped as planned.
Ensures draft documents are verified and original documents sent before shipment arrival.
Ensures payments are settled as per agreed payment terms for all suppliers.
Handles L/C processing wherever applicable; submits Letter of Acceptance to bank.
Updates treasurer with cash & clearing forecasts monthly.
Sends RFQ to SC Assistant; provides supplier with agent details upon shipment readiness.
Coordinates freight and shipments from origin to destination.
Ensures clearing documents are sent and clearing process is completed without delays.
Coordinates with clearing agents and warehouse for timely receipt and claims management.
C Insurance & Claim Management
Ensures consignments are properly covered by insurance.
Raises and follows up on claims with suppliers or insurance company.
D Budgeting & Provisional Costing
Prepares Landed Factors studies for new brands/products.
Prepares yearly cost & selling reports for landed cost generation.
Calculates orders quantities, values, and receipt schedules.
Justifies variances in actual vs. budgeted landed cost.
G Additional Responsibilities
Supervises Junior Supply Chain Officer.
Acts on behalf of any absent SCO.
Trains new SCOs and SCAs.
Assists SCM in reporting and project implementation.
Leads team on SCMs behalf in their absence.
Degrees & Certifications
Bachelors degree in Business Administration
MBA or certificate in supply chain/logistics from a reliable institution
Training
Transportation or Logistics, Forecasting or Demand Planning Techniques, Documentary Letter of Credit
Experience
Minimum of 3-4 years in supply chain
Skills and Knowledge
Languages: Arabic and English. French is a plus.
Computer: Proficient in Oracle and MS Office (especially Excel)
