Job Description

The Senior Supply Chain Staff– Asia is responsible for regional logistics operations including shipment execution, customs clearance, ERP transactions, purchase order tracking, vendor coordination, invoicing, and inventory management. This role ensures timely, complaint, and cost‑effective movement of materials across Asia while maintaining accurate virtual transactions within Coherent’s ERP systems.

The staff will also drive operational discipline, continuous improvement, and strong collaboration with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and global supply chain partners.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Logistics execution and documentation:
    • Manage all outbound and in-bound shipment transactions for Asia, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
    • Prepare, review, and validate all customs clearance documentation to ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.
    • Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to resolve shipment issues and expedite movement when required.
  • ERP & Virtual Transactions:
    • Execute all logistics‑related virtual transactions in the ERP system, including shipment posting, goods receipts, virtual receipts, material transfers, and inventory adjustments.
    • Ensure accuracy of ERP data to support financial integrity, supply planning, and inventory reconciliation.
    • Partner with corporate IT/ERP teams to troubleshoot transaction issues and improve process efficiency.
  • PR/PO and supplier coordination:
    • Monitor PR/PO status to ensure adequate purchase order coverage for all Asia‑based contract manufacturing partners
    • Work cross‑functionally with procurement and planning teams to resolve discrepancies, delays, or missing POs.
    • Maintain a proactive cadence with suppliers to ensure alignment on delivery schedules and documentation requirements.
  • Invoice and financial processing:
    • Validate supplier invoices against PO terms, shipment records, and ERP transactions.
    • Resolve invoice mismatches in collaboration with Accounts Payable, Procurement, and suppliers.
    • Track logistics‑related costs and ensure accurate cost allocation.
  • Inventory tracking and control:
    • Track inventory levels across Asia operations, including consigned, in‑transit, and warehouse materials.
    • Reconcile warehouse and ERP inventory periodically and investigate discrepancies.
    • Support cycle counts and inventory audits with internal and external partners.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in planning/logistics/supply chain/industrial engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a planner/scheduler preferably in semiconductor wafer fabrication environment
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience working with contract manufacturing business model in the capacity of any of following functions logistics/supply chain planning/operations program management/supply industrialization engineering/global supply manager, etc.
  • BS degree relevant fields

Skills & Other Requirements

  • Familiarity with MES (e.g. CAMSTAR) and PDM systems (e.g. Agile)
  • Expertise with MySQL
  • Familiarity with Power BI
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Customer Oriented attitude
  • Expertise in MS Excel; proficiency in MS Access preferable
  • Preferred language skill -- proficiency in spoken and written mandarin
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Be concise, consistent, and persistent in each daily communication.
  • May include travel within region – 10-15%.
