As a business in growth mode and with an exciting pipeline of work ahead of us, we’re looking for an experienced submission professional to join our high-performing team of writers and designers. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the development of compelling, customer-focused submissions that showcase Downer’s capability, support our growth strategy, and help secure some of New Zealand’s most significant transport and infrastructure projects.
You will be creative, driven and results-focused. Your ability to build trusted relationships, influence stakeholders, and manage complex projects will be something you take pride in. Working collaboratively and positively as part of a team with a shared purpose will come naturally to you.
Working with a wide variety of stakeholders across the business, you’ll quickly understand client requirements, procurement models and evaluation criteria, and translate these into compelling win strategies and high-scoring submissions. You’ll be calm, organised and adaptable under pressure, confidently managing multiple opportunities at different stages of the tender lifecycle while delivering consistently high-quality outcomes.

Previous experience working in the civil construction would be an advantage, but we are happy to train you if you bring strong writing, communication and project management skills, together with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for producing exceptional work
