Job Description

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Subcontracts Administrator to manage and administer a portfolio of subcontractors for
Amentum's Missile Defense Division. This role ensures that subcontracting activities are executed in compliance with federal regulations,
corporate policies, and contract requirements, while helping to deliver mission-critical support services efficiently and effectively. The Sr.
Subcontracts Administrator supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise
Solutions (IRES) Contract.

The candidate will be responsible for the following:
Subcontract Management:

  • Perform as a proactive, technical expert, overseeing the entire lifecycle of high-value, complex subcontracts. This role requires advanced knowledge of procurement regulations (FAR/DFAR), strategic sourcing, risk mitigation, and technical collaboration to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Determine appropriate solicitation methods and resultant contract types for a broad range of requirement categories
  • Serve as business advisor to task order teams
  • Continuously assess existing processes and present suggestions for improvements in compliance, efficiency, risk mitigation, and sound business decisions
  • Conduct market research
  • Analyze and evaluate Task Order and subcontractor proposals, negotiate deviations from work statements, schedule, and terms and conditions, acting as the primary POC interfacing with subcontractors and project team leadership
  • Conduct cost and/or price analysis and provide justification for the award
  • Continuously monitor contract status and performance to proactively identify necessity for amendments or extension of contracts. Prepare subcontract modifications, which include coordination of required additions, deletions, or other modifications or formal documentation of communication to/from subcontractors
  • Establish, negotiate, and administer subcontracting solutions such as Master Service Agreements (MSA) and Basic Ordering Agreements (BOAs)
  • Develop subcontract requirements documents conducive to project-based requirements, with defined objectives, outcomes, and deliverables
  • Perform formal closeout of subcontracts after project completion
  • Maintain communications to ensure timely contract execution by the parties

Performance Monitoring:

  • Administer resulting subcontracts, ensuring that all requirements are performed in accordance with the statement of work and delivery schedules, actively maintaining positive business relationships with subcontractors
  • Provide dispute resolution as needed

Compliance and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain document files in accordance with Subcontracts Policies and Procedures for internal and external audits
  • Ensure final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations
  • Review the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) regularly to ensure contract compliance with government regulations

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to perform tasks successfully with minimum guidance, often under short timelines, and must have the ability to manage shifting work priorities
  • Be responsive, flexible, organized, have a strong attention to detail
  • Be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and with others in a collaborative environment
  • Have excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understand contractual risks to apply to subcontract negotiations

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have 10, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience which may be reduced with completion of advanced degree
  • Must have 5, or more, years of directly related experience in Government contracting
  • Must have demonstrated recent contract and/or subcontract experience working with the FAR/DFARS
  • Working knowledge of multiple contract types including IDIQ, CPIF, T&M, firm-fixed price, and demonstrated ability to execute and interpret federal regulations within contracts
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • Have experience developing contract and/or subcontract requirements with little to no prior acquisition history
  • Have demonstrated experience developing process improvements and new processes for contract and/or subcontract management portfolios

This position is expected to pay $125,000 – $140,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
