The Role

We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Rail & Metro team in Melbourne. Working with a specialist team of Engineers, Drafters and Project Managers, you will be responsible for technical design input, co-ordination and project delivery activities across rail infrastructure projects locally and nationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the structural design and documentation for various rail projects locally and nationally
  • Undertaking structural design components using relative software, including MIDAS, Space Gass, Autodesk and Microstran, to name a few.
  • Reviewing structural designs, ensuring that analysis and design tasks undertaken meet appropriate technical standards and the requirements of the client and SMEC
  • Production of engineering reports and supporting tender proposals
  • Proactively collaborating with team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and coordination of project deliverables
  • Actively contribute to the technical success of projects and the team

About You

  • Relevant Engineering qualifications – with a focus in Structural Engineering
  • 6 years’ design experience in rail infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated design experience using relevant Structural software
  • Possesses project management and hands-on experience, encompassing administrative, commercial and technical aspects
  • Strong understanding of Australian codes and standards
  • Submit technical reports of a standard requiring minimal correction; and provide final review of reports
  • Able to work on own initiative and in a team environment
  • Relevant working rights
