Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Mon–Thu in office, Fri remote) | Fully Remote Considered

The Senior Structural Engineer III provides advanced structural engineering expertise supporting heavy industrial and power plant facilities. This senior-level role is responsible for structural design, analysis, field support, inspections, and technical oversight of complex multi-disciplinary projects.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in structural steel and concrete design within industrial environments and is capable of independently leading large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Engineering & Design
- Provide structural engineering services and field support for heavy industrial and power generation facilities
- Prepare and review structural designs and detailed calculations
- Produce and check structural steel design calculations and drawings
- Develop material takeoffs and cost estimates
- Provide schedule and staffing input for projects
Field Support & Inspections
- Conduct site walkdowns at construction sites
- Perform structural inspections
- Prepare written inspection reports and recommendations
- Provide technical support during construction and project execution
Technical Leadership
- Lead and coordinate multi-discipline structural design efforts
- Ensure compliance with structural codes, standards, and OSHA regulations
- Manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance as needed
Required Qualifications
- 30+ years of heavy industrial / power plant structural engineering experience
OR
- Accredited Bachelor’s & Master’s Degree in Engineering with Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Extensive experience in:
- Structural steel design
- Concrete design principles
- Structural steel connection design
- Heavy industrial structures and components
- Proficiency with:
- Structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD Pro)
- Applicable structural codes and standards
- OSHA regulations
- Strong computer skills and analytical capabilities
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to coordinate and manage large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
