Lead the structural design and analysis of bridges and other transportation structures (e.g., viaducts, culverts, retaining walls).
Perform advanced structural calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., MIDAS Civil, STAAD, etc.).
Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design drawings and specifications.
Evaluate structural systems for safety, durability, constructability, and cost-efficiency.
Carry out design checks, peer reviews, and value engineering exercises.
Apply relevant international and local design standards such as AASHTO LRFD, Eurocode, BS Standards, or DPWH Bridge Design Manuals
Ensure documentation complies with quality assurance procedures and audit requirements.
Keep up to date with evolving engineering technologies, materials, and regulatory changes.
Lead and coordinate design activities across multidisciplinary teams (geotechnical, highway, hydraulics, architecture, etc.).
Prepare design schedules, work plans, and resource estimates.
Support preparation of project proposals, technical reports, feasibility studies, and tender documents.
Monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure deliverables meet scope, budget, and timelines.
Provide technical support during construction, including shop drawing review, RFI responses, and site inspections.
Assess construction methodologies for structural feasibility and safety.
Resolve engineering challenges encountered during construction.
Conduct condition assessments, structural evaluations, and load rating analyses for existing bridges.
Develop repair, strengthening, and retrofit strategies for aging or damaged infrastructure.
Utilize structural health monitoring (SHM) data where applicable.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level engineers.
Conduct internal technical training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Serve as a subject-matter expert in structural engineering and bridge design.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, government agencies, and partners.
Present technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Attend coordination meetings, design reviews, and project workshops.
