Our team develops and executes TELUS' corporate Indigenous reconciliation commitments and action plan in collaboration with business units across TELUS. Part of the National Network Planning (NNP) team, our team delivers on a world-class customer experience by expanding our advanced broadband network infrastructure directly to homes and businesses within Indigenous communities across British Columbia and Alberta and abroad.

As a Senior Strategy Manager in this portfolio, you'll support the delivery of our annual Connectivity Report, scale our AI for Good initiatives with Indigenous-led organizations, and drive strategic storytelling that connects our reconciliation work to TELUS' broader impact. You'll operate across multiple complex initiatives simultaneously, working at pace with tight deadlines and competing priorities—translating strategy into measurable outcomes that strengthen TELUS' relationships with Indigenous communities and advance reconciliation in corporate Canada.

What you’ll do

  • Work with cross-functional teams of internal, as well as external stakeholders and rightsholders to materialize TELUS' Reconciliation Commitment and Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan (IRAP), using strategic thinking and planning skills to support the rollout and promotion of the new IRAP
  • Through a strong partnership with our IRAP and Indigenous Relations (IR) team, support the impact of our reconciliation efforts through storytelling, educating team members, and identifying opportunities to connect our reconciliation work to TELUS' strategic priorities, positioning TELUS to support the unique needs of Indigenous communities, team members, and business development
  • Lead the development and delivery of TELUS' annual Connectivity Report and website, including the five-year milestone report, managing timelines, stakeholder sign-offs, and cross-functional coordination to ensure on-time delivery and impact
  • Support the national partnership with the Moose Hide Campaign, designing internal engagement strategies for TELUS team members and external communications strategies to encourage TELUS partners to join the movement
  • Create project plans and apply project management methodology to programs and initiatives, including leveraging systems and tools (Google Suite, survey tools, data analysis platforms) to support success of TELUS' reconciliation goals
  • Proactively build and maintain strong working relationships throughout TELUS and with Indigenous rightsholders, navigate complex teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders to gain buy-in for initiatives, while anticipating dependencies and challenges to stay one step ahead
  • Continually identify and champion new approaches and strategies for how TELUS can support reconciliation with Indigenous communities and Peoples, while providing internal and external engagement and communication guidelines aligned with our commitments and brand promise
  • Other jobs tasks as assigned

What you bring

  • 6+ years of professional experience in communications, strategy, or program management, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives, timelines, and budgets simultaneously
  • Deep understanding of Indigenous cultures, protocols, ways of knowing, and organizations in
  • Canada, with demonstrated ability to integrate Indigenous perspectives into strategic planning and a commitment to good allyship in reconciliation work
  • Strong background in strategic planning and project management, with ability to work backwards from deadlines and navigate complex corporate environments
  • Proven track record for consistently delivering results while working within tight deadlines and effectively meeting program milestones while managing competing deadline pressures, ambiguity, and change
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and adapt to change
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing for external audiences and translating complex information into compelling narratives
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships across organizational levels, influence stakeholders, and navigate complex teams to gain buy-in
  • Problem-solving mindset with ability to anticipate challenges, think proactively, and identify new approaches to complex issues
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Slides, Docs, Drive) and comfort with data analysis and survey tools

Great to have

  • Experience in Indigenous strategy development, program design, and evaluation
  • Familiarity with AI usage and understanding of how it can creatively support Indigenous communities
  • Experience working in large, complex organizations (5000+ employees) and understanding of how to navigate organizational systems and culture

Location: Anywhere in Canada #LI-Remote

Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.
