What's the role?

We’re looking for a Senior Strategist, Digital & Social to join Medium Rare Content Agency as a senior strategic lead within the Strategy Centre of Excellence. Working across Medium Rare, Visual Domain and Storyation, this role will lead digital, social and content strategies for existing clients, new business, RFPs and proactive opportunities.

As the second senior strategic lead in the team, this role is designed to increase strategy capacity, run multiple high-value workstreams in parallel and provide senior client-facing support across the business.

This role exists to strengthen Medium Rare's digital and social strategy capability across the agency group. As a senior, client-facing strategist, you will be responsible for leading strategic responses from initial brief to final recommendation with total autonomy and limited oversight. Acting as the second-in-command within the Strategy Centre of Excellence, you will help ensure continuity of leadership, foster stronger cross-agency support, and unlock greater capacity to deliver high-value strategic work at pace.

You will expertly translate audience insights, platform dynamics, client data, and commercial business objectives into strategic recommendations that are highly practical, creative, measurable, and commercially relevant.

What you will do
Lead end-to-end digital, social and content strategy development for new and
existing clients, from discovery through to final recommendation

Support and own strategic responses for briefs, RFPs, proactive pitches and retained client work
Shape social-first and digital-first content approaches across key platforms and channels
Develop channel recommendations, content pillars, messaging frameworks and content plans
Continously upskill in the digital space moving from SEO practices to AEO
Collaborate with strategists, social leads, creatives, producers, commercial teams and client teams, including mentoring and upskilling internal teams in digital, social and content strategy best practice
Contribute to audience, competitor, platform and cultural research
Keep up to date with emerging social platforms, content formats, creator trends and digital behaviours

Support the Strategy Director on strategic presentations, content plans and new business opportunities
Present strategic thinking confidently to clients and senior internal stakeholders, leading workshops, sell-ins and recommendation sessions
Act as a senior client-facing strategic lead across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring high-quality output with limited oversight
Step into the Strategy CoE lead role when required, providing continuity, senior
judgement and team support

Identify opportunities to grow existing client scopes and contribute to new revenue opportunities across Medium Rare, Visual Domain and Storyation
Determine when specialist external support is required and help brief, manage and integrate that expertise efficiently

Who are you?

  • You are an experienced digital and social strategist with a strong understanding of content marketing, social platforms, audience behaviour and multi-channel content.

  • You bring 5+ years' experience in digital strategy, social strategy, content strategy, social media, integrated marketing or a related discipline, ideally within an agency, media, publishing or content environment.

  • You know how to shape content for different audiences, channels and objectives, and you're confident developing strategies that connect creative ideas with measurable outcomes.

  • You are comfortable working across multiple stakeholders and projects, from new business pitches through to ongoing client programs. You bring strategic thinking, creative judgement, commercial awareness and practical delivery.

  • You are highly organised, collaborative and curious, with a strong interest in social culture, emerging platforms, audience behaviour and the evolving role of digital and AI content in brand communications
