The Senior Strategic Sourcing Lead – North America reports to the Director of Global Sourcing and serves as a corporate supply chain partner to TASI Measurement’s North American business units. The role develops and executes regional and category sourcing strategies while strengthening the sourcing capabilities of local business-unit teams. Working within TASI’s decentralized operating model, the position partners with business-unit leaders and buyer/planners to identify cross-business opportunities, develop preferred suppliers, reduce supply-chain risk, and improve total cost, quality, delivery, lead time, and working capital. The role also coaches and mentors local procurement personnel and helps establish practical sourcing processes, tools, standard work, and performance management routines aligned with the Measurement Business System. The position leads through influence rather than direct authority and must balance local business requirements with the benefits of regional scale, supplier leverage, common processes, and coordinated supply-base strategies

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with North American business units to understand their operational priorities, supply-chain risks, and sourcing needs and to develop practical improvement plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop and execute regional and category sourcing strategies using spend analysis, market intelligence, cost drivers, technical requirements, supplier capabilities, and total-cost considerations.
  • Lead supplier selection and sourcing events, including RFQs/RFPs, supplier assessments, bid analysis, negotiations, contracting, qualification, and implementation.
  • Coach and mentor business-unit buyers and planners in strategic sourcing, negotiation, cost analysis, supplier management, risk mitigation, and effective use of ERP/MRP information.
  • Develop and deploy common sourcing processes, tools, standard work, and performance routines aligned with MBS while accommodating appropriate business-unit requirements and levels of maturity.
  • Build and manage a regional preferred-supplier network, identifying opportunities to aggregate spend, leverage TASI’s scale, improve commercial terms, and reduce unnecessary supplier fragmentation.
  • Manage supplier performance and development using defined quality, delivery, cost, lead-time, responsiveness, capacity, and risk metrics; lead supplier business reviews and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Improve supply-chain resilience through alternate-source qualification, regionalization, nearshoring, continuity planning, capacity assessments, and reduction of geographic, geopolitical, and sole-source risk.
  • Deliver measurable business results, including validated cost savings, cost avoidance, improved payment terms, reduced lead times, working-capital improvements, and successful sourcing support for new-product introductions.
  • Establish effective cross-business governance and visibility by maintaining an actionable sourcing pipeline, improving supplier and pricing data, sharing best practices across business units, and communicating progress, risks, and recommendations to BU and TASI leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of sourcing or procurement experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience developing category strategies, leading sourcing events, negotiating agreements, and delivering cost improvements.
  • Experience supporting multiple manufacturing sites or decentralized business units with the ability to manage
  • multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop buyers, planners, or other supply chain professionals.
  • Experience managing supplier performance, development, risk, and alternate-source qualification.
  • Strong analytical skills, including spend analysis, business-case development, and results reporting.
  • Ability to lead change, influence without direct authority, and implement standard processes; lean experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, or other ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience with approved AI-enabled tools, such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or comparable tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sourcing engineered, electromechanical, electronic, machined, or other industrial components.
  • Working knowledge of inventory planning, demand planning, material planning, and forecasting, including the use of MRP data to align inventory and material supply with production requirements.
  • International or global-sourcing experience and knowledge of import/export compliance.
  • Experience supporting new product development and production launches.
  • Applying lean or continuous-improvement methods within procurement or supply chain.
  • Experience using approved AI-enabled tools for research, analysis, drafting, reporting, or workflow improvement.
  • Experience with Epicor and/or Microsoft Dynamics ERP systems.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
