Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.
We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Strategic Implementation Business Analyst in Melbourne to work on CASG Commercial Division Projects
What You’ll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:
Shape and deliver the Commercial Team’s strategic roadmap by developing forward work plans and operational artefacts that translate strategy into actionable tasks.
Coordinate the development of a structured information framework that supports policy, process, and knowledge management for the new S/4HANA ERP environment.
Collaborate across Defence stakeholders to ensure seamless end‑to‑end integration of procurement processes with broader ERP workstreams.
Conduct analytical and investigative work to identify business requirements, process improvements, and opportunities for system enhancement within the Defence ERP program.
Drive adoption of the new ERP system by identifying uplift needs in policy, process, training, and change management, while supporting effective procurement outcomes through strong stakeholder engagement.
What You’ll Bring
Hands‑on experience navigating and performing transactional activities in SAP S/4HANA, ideally within commercial or procurement modules.
Demonstrated capability working with senior executives and operating effectively in complex public‑sector environments.
Background in procurement or commercial functions, preferably within Defence or other government settings.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams and industry partners.
Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and communicate clearly in both written and verbal forms.
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
