You’d be part of the Renewables Engineering and Technology Team in LATAM, working closely with our colleagues and customers in Southern Europe, Middle East, Latin America, and Africa (SEMELA) Region.

You would be involved in technical advisory services including technical due diligence, conceptual design, technical specifications, procurement support, EPC/O&M contract review, design review, construction progress monitoring, testing and commissioning across LATAM.

Most of the work will be desk-based, but (national and international) travel for site and customer visits will be required at times (estimated at 5% to 20% of your time, depending on the projects you are involved in).

Main duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Execute energy storage related technical advisory services, including technology review, technical due diligence, conceptual design, technical specifications, procurement support, BoP/LTSA/EPC/O&M contract review, basic design review, construction progress monitoring, testing and commissioning.
  • Support the development and maintenance of services and products related to Energy Storage.
  • Support client and market discussions, contribute to thought leadership, and help position DNV in the energy storage industry facilitating sales in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Degreen in Electrochemical, Electrical, Energy or Material Engineering
  • Proven previous experience in utility scale energy storage projects.
  • Strong understanding of key energy storage concepts, including round-trip efficiency, degradation, PQ curves, and response time, with the ability to conduct and review related technical studies.
  • Technical knowledge in technology, electrical balance of plant design & specifications.
  • Familiarity with contracts (construction, supply, operations, interconnection, offtake, and/or asset management contracts).
  • Knowledge of relevant BESS certifications and international standards.
  • Dynamic and enthusiastic team player - co-operates will with others, shares knowledge, experience and information, and supports others in pursuit of team goals.
  • Delivery and Results - completes tasks in accordance with expectations and schedule and with strong attention to details, understanding task urgency; able to juggle and manage conflicting work priorities to ensure deadlines are met. Drives ideas to implementation and execution in a timely manner.
  • Analysis and judgement - quickly understands and analyses problems & complex issues, provides sound and rational judgements. Demonstrates methodical and systematic approach, plans ahead and prioritizes tasks effectively.
  • Networking - builds good personal and professional relationships. Experience of building long-term client relationships.

  • Communicates and influences in a clear, open, active and honest manner (verbal and written) and seeks understanding of other views.
  • Proven ability to produce clear written reports and communicate verbally in English and Spanish.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Postgraduate diploma in renewable energy, power grids, energy storage, or a related field.
  • Familiar with Owners Engineering Services
  • Previous Project Development or EPC experience with energy storage or renewables (wind and solar).
  • Portuguese is a plus.
